February Newsletter

Hello everyone!

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet for the last week, I ended up going on a kind of unexpected trip to Scotland that messed with my schedule but I’m back now and ready to get back to work! Firstly I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has chosen to support me through my first month of Patreon! I can’t believe it!

I’ve been a little thrown off by the fact that I started my Patreon on the 17th of the month rather than at the start so I’m a little behind on rewards, but I’ll be posting a ton of content this week just for you!

I super appreciate how patient everyone has been as I figure out the kinks of incorporating this into part of my routine and generally just getting used to Patreon!

January was kind of a wild month in a lot of unexpected ways. It was my birthday and then my partner’s only 5 days afterwards and I also went to visit friends up north for a week so sadly my time hasn’t been spent doing as much work as I’d like. I’m actually feeling very guilty about it but I’m extremely excited to jump back into it with maximum effort this week!

My goal for January was for it to be the month of trying new things. I started this Patreon, I started a discord, I started my YouTube channel... basically I just managed to do a lot of things I’ve wanted to do for a long time!

Admittedly it has been a struggle to balance my responsibilities this month, probably in no small part due to over-keenness to jump into so many new things!

Thank for for continuing to support me! Here are a few more specific updates:

DISCORD SERVER

I started a discord server! It’s basically a place for cool artists to hang out but I’d like to extend the invitation to all of my patrons! I’ll be sending links out tomorrow so keep an eye out for that!

COMICS

My comics will be going on hiatus everywhere apart from Patreon for the next week so you guys will finally be getting exclusive comics from now on! My aim is to post a minimum of 2 completed comics per week that are exclusive to Patreon (and will be posted elsewhere a week later). I’m actually planning on working towards 3 but 2 is my minimum! As always I’ll continue sharing comic sketches and ideas alongside the finished comics and this will all be available for $2 patrons.

SKETCH REQUESTS

The sketch requests for January will be completed by the end of this week and messages for February sketches will be sent out immediately afterwards. Foolishly, I didn’t take into account that I started my Patreon mid January and didn’t send out messages until the week after, which didn’t leave enough time to get them all done by the end of the month. Thank you for being so patient with me as I get these done!

VIOLAPSE

Thank you $7 patrons who have patiently been waiting for me to get organised with Violapse! I will be posting concept sketches and the script throughout February as I’m working on it and I’ll start to post thumbnails/rough pages towards the end of the month. The project is still in its very early stages but I’m excited to show you its growth as it happens!

YOUTUBE

For my next couple of YouTube videos, I’ll be focusing on various facets about working as a freelance artist in conjunction with having mental health problems. In the last video, I discussed the topic in very broad strokes but next video will focus specifically on social media! If anyone has any questions that they’d like me to talk about in either the next video or just in general for a future video, hit me up!
