Epithelium is about the vain search for meaning in the aftermath of an abusive relationship. Drawing on my own experiences as a survivor of domestic abuse, I wanted to explore how I feel my abuser irreparably infused me with his unrelenting anger. I have dedicated my entire being to not continuing the cycle, but my gnawing desire for revenge frightens me. This comic is an exploration of how devastating it is to experience abuse and the lifelong poison that comes with it.
