Very true! But it doesn't mean that other instruments aren't suitable for combat as well--I want to see people bashing monsters over the head with tubas!

2021-07-02 14:58:14 +0000 UTCIn defense of the humble lute, it has a lot going for it. It's robust, portable and versatile. If specially constructed, the fretboard can be built to conceal a thin dagger without affecting the sound quality too much. You may even find that once disassembled the tuning keys and strings can be recombined into a more-than-serviceable garrote. And if all else fails, you can always brain somebody with it.
