There’s a lot going on in today’s Handbook of Erotic Fantasy.
It would appear that Paladin and BBEG watch the same soap operas.
It would also appear that Necromancer is continuing her campaign to drive Paladin apeshit.
It would also also appear that Paladin had to ask Oracle for help tuning the Anti-Party’s scrying bowl to a decidedly indecent channel. If that’s not money in the swear jar, it should be.
It would triply-also appear that Fighter is enjoying his recently reacquired manhood. I wonder how long that’s going to last? I mean, some of you seemed pretty sad to see Femme Fighter exit the comic, and we do hate to disappoint the fans. :3
Finally, it would quadruply-also appear that the continuities of HoEF and the main comic are interacting in strange and unpredictable ways. After all, way back in HoEF #3 we claimed that, “This is a spin-off comic, and the storylines are happily separate.” We even talked about distinct universes, saying that HoEF and its unerotic counterpart represent forking timelines. But look at all the evidence to the contrary! Our girl Fem!Wizard managed to show up in both places. Today’s comic seems to directly references the events of “Venial Sins.” The recent “Hot Springs Episode” arc also broke free of its HoEF confines, becoming our first system-agnostic module. (Hero and Epic Hero patrons should expect the prototype in this month’s schwag mail.)
What I’m saying is that there seems to be a lot of bleed between worlds. Planar boundaries are breaking down. Holes in the fabric of space-time are opening up. Can we blame temporal anomalies? Capricious gods? Lazy writing? My guess would be all of the above.
To wrap up today’s blog post, I’d like to pivot from speculating about the impending collapse of the multiverse to thank all the patrons who make this part of the Handbook possible. It’s been a lot of fun to write, and it wouldn’t be possible without you. Always feel free to comment with your requests, lewd and otherwise. This comic may not be an RPG, but we like to think it’s an interactive bit of media anyway. We’re always happy to hear from you, and you can rest assured that the good people of Handbook-World thank you for your service.
