Steamy Violence
Recently, the subtle magic of the Love Spring has mixed with Three Gate’s planar energies to produce a singularly unhappy creature. This hot springs elemental is hopelessly lovelorn, and has taken to charming customers. Treat this creature as a combination water/fire elemental, possessing the qualities of both and immune to damage from either element. The creature can assume gaseous form, becoming effectively invisible in steamy areas. In this form it produces the same effect as the Love Spring, charming any creature (save negates) who inhales its steam. Unable to touch its would-be lovers without burning them, the elemental targets particularly hardy-looking bathers, hoping to find one who can withstand its steamy embrace.
The Portals
Water: Only 1 ft. in diameter, this portal issues tepid water as per a decanter of endless water on its geyser setting. The stream splits into two after 50 ft. One fork flows into the fire portal, the other into the ice portal. At the end of the day, the pool’s elemental staff commute home through the water portal like salmon leaping upstream.
Fire: This 6ft. diameter portal is actually two parallel portals set side by side. Water flows through one end, spends 50’ flowing through the plane of fire, and emerges through the other end only a few inches away in the material plane. Creatures of the material plane take 1d6 fire damage each round they spend here. If your players are spoiling for additional combat, mischievous mephits may retreat through here, having stolen several bathers’ swimwear.
Ice: As the fire portal, but the plane of ice and 1d6 cold damage per round.
