It's always difficult when the party is split on whether or not to keep around a potentially difficult npc.

We've got an enemy that's done some pretty heinous stuff, but one of our number feels it's important for him to try and redeem her. So you've got an NPC that half the group would rather execute for her crimes, the rest would rather just lock her up somewhere and throw away the key and the one guy whose character arc is invested in continuing to interact with her.
