Comic Preview: The Return of Jeremy

This is a subject that's pretty near and dear to my heart--my father is a gamer, and I grew up underneath the D&D table, playing with my toys while he and his group slew vampire lords and overthrew kingdoms.  It definitely contributed to me being a gamer later in life. There's nothing wrong with including kids with gaming, but there's also nothing wrong with wanting your group to be adults-only.  I wasn't allowed to join my dad's party officially until I was in high school, and it was a big deal for me to finally be invited to do something other than watch.  Instead, my dad ran campaigns for my brother and I at home, until we were mature enough to play with the adults, and in the long run, I think it was a good way to keep his friends from resenting his children monopolizing the time at the table.  Kids are awesome, but it can be hard to give up your epic political intrigue that you've been enjoying to help an 8-year-old figure out what their unicorn barbarian needs to roll to hit the evil vizier.  Both are awesome, but it's important to know what your group is okay with before you introduce young players into a group.
