Demon Lord: "Oh, thank the abyss, you're finally here. Go ahead, do it quickly. I'm tired."

Hero: *"Wait, what? You're just giving up? After everything you've done?"

Demon Lord: "Yes, please. You have no idea how exhausting it is to be the Demon Lord. Hero after hero, year after year. Just end it already."

Hero: "This has to be a trick. You're the Demon Lord! You're supposed to be evil and... well, fighty."

Demon Lord: "I am evil. And I was fighty. But that gets old fast. Seriously, I'm so done with this. Just kill me."

Hero: "No! You don’t get to surrender! Not after my friends died fighting your armies! Not after all the suffering you've caused!"

Demon Lord: "Listen, if it makes you feel any better, I've suffered too. Do you know how hard it is to get good help these days? Minions are either too dumb or too ambitious. Ugh."

Hero: "That's... that's not the point! Fight me! Give me a reason to strike you down, to make their deaths mean something!"

Demon Lord: "Honestly, if you want a fight, go see Gerald in accounting. He’s been trying to kill me for my job for years. I'm sure he'd love to take a swing at you."

Hero: "Gerald in accounting? Are you serious?"

Demon Lord: "Dead serious. He has a thing for spreadsheets and spreadsheets of torture devices. Creepy guy. Anyway, back to you killing me?"

Hero: "No! I can’t just... This isn’t right! I trained for years for this moment!"

Demon Lord: "Hey, I trained too! Do you know how many sword-fighting classes I had to take? And for what? Just to get stabbed by the next eager hero. It's a thankless job."

Hero: "But my friends... they died believing they'd stop a great evil, not... help you retire!"

Demon Lord: "Well, consider this the ultimate act of heroism. By killing me, you save future heroes from the same fate as your friends. Think of it as breaking the cycle."

Hero: "I need more than just your resignation. I need justice for the lives you've taken!"

Demon Lord: "Justice? Lady, I’ve been running a soul-sucking bureaucracy for centuries. You think I don’t want out? Do it. Swing that sword. Send me to whatever eternal paperwork hell awaits me."

Hero: "You're a coward! You don’t get to choose! But... if I don't end you, more will suffer. Damn you!"

Demon Lord: "I’ve been damned for a long time, Hero. Finish it. Please. Do us all a favor."

Hero: "For my friends. For everyone."[She raises her holy sword, tears in her eyes, and with a final, exasperated cry, she plunges it into the Demon Lord’s heart.]

Demon Lord: "Finally! Thank you. By the way, Gerald’s gonna be a nightmare for you. Good luck with that."[He whispers as he fades away, leaving the Hero standing alone in the throne room, sword still in hand.]

Hero:"Gerald... in accounting? What kind of messed-up job did I sign up for?"
