The Wrath of Justice (one shot)

Something carthatic in response to a discussion we had in Discord.

Dr. Light rapes Sue Dibny. The Justice League DOES NOT take kindly to that.

Very short.

(General P.O.V)

In the meeting Hall of the Watchtower, the mood was somber and l

"At this point...there's no longer a need for discussion."

Wonder Woman rose to her feet.

"I quit the Justice League."

Her words instantly left everyone speechless. No one said a thing as she walked out of the Meeting Hall.

"I'm with Diana on this."

The Flash spoke up.

"If all they managed to do was send him to an institution to get help...I would have been okay with it. Not content because that Fucker deserves to be in prison for what he did..."

He bit out, seething with hate.

No one had ever seen the Flash this heated.

"But allowing the Government to clear all his charges so that Waller can have him for his tech...is beyond wrong. He. Should. Be. In. Prison! Or- or worse!"

Barry slammed his hand on the table.

"The Justice League's hands are tied."

Batman calmly spoke, but from his tightened fist it was easy to see he too was affected.

"This is not something we can openly do anything about."

"Fuck that. That son of a bitch raped one of our colleagues wife. And you expect us to sit back and do nothing?!"

Hal grew heated, the shroud of emerald green around his body pulsing in volatile bursts.

"Jordan, calm down."

Captain Atom placed a hand on his shoulder.

"What we should do now is figure out a way to ensure Justice is served. The League was created to be in the light. It's why I joined. It's why we all joined."

Green Lantern shrugged off the hold.

"No. I joined because, the League could be effective where normal authorities are not."

He looked out into the meeting Hall.

"I can grab him without anyone finding out, and throw him in the worst Galactic prison in sector 102. Trust me, he wouldn't be coming back from there."

"Then we become who we try to fight. Criminals who think they're above the law."

Black Canary countered.

"Then what do you propose we do? Huh?"

Hal sneered.

"Hal."

Green Arrow called out in a warning.

"Watch your tone. Dinah is not the problem here."

The Green Lantern looked away with a scoff, muttering a sorry under his breath.

"We can't make this problem go away that way Hal."

Dinah finished.

"But it's clear something has to be done."

Shazam repeated.

"I would lose faith in us if we failed to protect one of our own."

"Something will be done."

Batman said confidently.

The Flash widened his eyes.

"I was surprised when you let Diana leave without a word..."

"Superman."

Batman steppled his fingers together.

"How fast can you get to Diana before she outright kills Mr. Arthur Light?"

The Man of Steel stood to his full height. He'd been silent all this while. His mind having been occupied by the thought...'what if it was Lois?'

"In this case...not fast enough. But I'll try."

Then he was off.

The rest of the League members said nothing. Everyone seemed to be in agreement. Sometimes, at least this one time...justice had taken on a more direct and cruel path.

The next day, the news spoke of Dr. Light meeting an unfortunate accident during his transfer to Riker's island.

Every bone in his body was broken but miraculously he was still alive. But it was obvious he would be drinking out of a straw for the rest of his life.
