Cabin in the Woods

“Fucking useless thing…” Jay cursed.

Recently he had taken up hiking in the hopes of propping up a social media career. He would be a full on outdoors man, taking photos of the most glorious views and beautiful scenery. He slapped together a pack with his freshly bought compass and maps. The compass he realised was more complicated then he thought and he had no idea how to use it properly. His satellite phone wasn’t charged properly, his water bottle had leaked through the maps and his portable charger he slipped and it cracked on a rock. The cell reception was patchy around this area so he was struggling hopelessly to gather his bearings. He really should have done some more prep work he wished dismally. Apparently watching a dozen YouTube videos he thought he would be able to emulate the same thing. Apparently a big solo hiking trip in the forest for your fist outdoor adventure was a bit too unrealistic.

He always had the flare gun, but no one would be able to see that till later in the evening. He had an emergency beacon that he could turn on and they would send someone to find him. That was a last resort though he didn’t want to seem like some loser especially on his first trip. He had talked himself up so much to his friends too and was going to wow them with his photography. But even his camera didn’t seem to be taking anything but blurry out of focus shots. He tested the lens before he left too; nothing seemed to be going right it was like this stupid forest was cursed. The flare gun would probably explode if he were to use it with the rate things were turning out so far. After aimlessly traveling for another hour or so he noticed the sun was beginning to set.

Jay sighed; it was probably time to cut his losses and switch on the emergency beacon and get the flare gun ready. That’s when he finally saw it, a single glimpse at a sign of life in this empty forest. A small house tucked away in a low clearing, he was sure he had passed through this area before why was he now just seeing it. Perhaps it was the small yellow glow from the lantern hanging over the old wooden patio. It was just a small cottage; he would be leaving out here, perhaps some kind of hermit. At least he could ask them for directions, maybe it would make for an interesting photo op. He decided to go with his instincts, rolling the dice that hopefully it wouldn’t happen to turn out to be some crazy person.

He made his way carefully, walking softly as he could, cringing slightly as he crossed over a pile of dried dead leaves. The small cottage was definitely in a state of disrepair, he was surprised anyone would choose to willingly live here. Maybe they had no other option; maybe it was a runaway from the law, some outcast from a life they wanted away from. Perhaps he had just been watching too many movies lately; he chuckled lightly but tensed up as he pounded softly on the dusty wooden door. He heard shuffling then footsteps as they approached towards him. The door pulled open and creaked as if it had been some time since the person had last ventured outside.

A kindly looking older woman with a rather sharp upturned nose glared at him with speckled black frames perched over her wrinkled face. She smiled with a big toothy grin as she eyed him over with her big oval eyes.

“Ohhhh I don’t get many visitors around here, how can I help you young man.”

“I ummm, hey I’m Jay I got a bit lost and was wondering if you could possibly point me the way back to the main road.” He said stumbling over his words.

“Jay….. that’s a lovely name, you can call me Auntie dear.”

She smiled broadly and coaxed him gently inside. He thought it was a bit much this older woman inviting a stranger into her house, he noticed how she had seemed to dodge his question. But he felt compelled to follow her inside, and he carefully shuffled along behind her. The house looked neater on the inside, the wooden floorboards creaked but it didn’t seem that dusty. She obviously cared about its inward appearance maybe now she was older she struggled with the upkeep of its exterior. He looked over the rustic and vintage décor, floral arrangements dotted wooden shelving and the olive green wallpaper dominated over the rooms. She seemed to be giving him the full tour walking him around the house letting him take in the sights. He wondered what the destination was he felt they were walking aimlessly.

She turned to him and chuckled he wondered why before he turned and saw his face in an old ornate mirror and realised he had been sucking his thumb. He quickly forced his hand away almost instantly he felt emptiness and had to fight the compulsion to start sucking again. Auntie brought him over the dining room and pulled a seat out that he briskly took. She tucked a napkin into his shirt and brought over a glass of a sweet juice he didn’t recognise, it had the slightest aroma of honey too it. He took a sip and found it so addicting he couldn’t put it down. He sipped away as she had a look through his rucksack.

“These pictures look a bit blurry dear.” She said as she spied through his camera.

Jay removed his lips from the glass to speak. “My camera wasn’t working properly.”

The woman smiled. “Keep drinking your bottle sweetheart.”

Bottle? Before he realised it and could rationalise what he was seeing he brought the infantile babies bottle to his lips and kept sucking away at the teat. A little droll fell from the corner of his mouth and soaked into the baby’s bib that was wrapped around his neck. The woman watched him drinking curiously; he stared back at her with wide eyes as he tried desperately to regain control of his own actions. He felt like nothing he did was of his own free will, everything was so fuzzy all of a sudden.

“This is a special place little Jay bird.” She spoke. “You seem like a good boy, just got a little lost on an adventure and you happened to stumble in.”

He kept sucking away enthusiastically as she continued.

“Only those who desperately need to find this place, ever find it and it’s not many and no one for a very long time in fact, only someone who is very lost will ever see it.”

She looked him over again and smiled.

“But you look like you definitely need it.”

Jay belched as he finished the bottle; he felt a warmth down below and looked to see he was helplessly wetting himself. He felt like he was going to cry and he found himself sniffling and getting teary. Auntie cooed and walked over to him, she helped him to his feet and led him over to a fancy looking door.

“Whatever you truly need Jaybird is what will show itself in this room.”

Auntie dramatically pulled open the door and revealed an oversized babies nursery. Jay was too flabbergasted and aloof to really put up any fight and timidly followed her into the room. He realised at some point a pacifier had been inserted into his mouth and he sucked away rhythmically as he found himself lying down on the large changing table as she finished stripping him of his wet clothes. She washed him, shaved him, lathered him in cream and powdered him before wrapping him in a thick fluffy diaper. She pulled a pair of crinkly plastic pants over his large diaper and finally a blue onesie was pulled over his head. It was blue with jaybirds dotting the front and back. She clasped it firmly over his diaper as she pulled it between his legs and clipped the pacifier to the cuff around his neck.

“You can stay here as long as you need; it’s a big world out there you were so lost but no longer.”

She placed her hand to the front of his bloated groin and felt warmth as he peed himself blissfully once again. He finally had composure over his actions and stared at his hands like it was the first time seeing them.

“Thank you Auntie.” He lisped around his pacifier.

She pulled him into a hug; people always treated her so harshly over the centuries for being a witch. But she could be sweet and kind this was proof of that. So what that Jay hadn’t come through with his revelation of infancy on his own, that the thoughts and fears were pushed into his mind through her witchcraft. She had made everything so hazy but now his thoughts and decisions were of his own. He just really felt like this was what he needed now. She would let him toddle out eventually maybe after a week; she could help him get found by the rescuers. She wondered what cute outfit she would have him in when they finally found him, she was sure he would need to stay in his diapers he looked so peaceful as he had wet himself. This was his life now his future was that of a big baby, and she was sure that he would come to love it.
