Finetech Law in Mexico, a bit of worry around here
Added 2019-08-27 02:24:04 +0000 UTCGuys, really concerning news Apparently, there's a new law approved here in Mexico called FineTech Law that apparently will stop us mexican users of PayPal from of having a wallet, meaning it will transfer directly to our accounts, taxing us for the conversion from USD to Pesos.
Not only that but could also screw us over as artists with the government, with a sudden influx of money we could be accused of fraud or such Since Patreon pays us via Paypal only, it could mean trouble.
This law will apply in Sep 25 in the meantime i am trying to contact Patreon to see if there's a possibility of alternate payout plataforms like Stripe. If it's not possible, maybe all my Patreon rewards and such i will move them to Ko-Fi or pixiv, as well as make a Stripe Account
However i will contact both Paypal and the Tax House here. If there's a simple solution to all of this like just filing additional taxes then i'll take it and things will continue as normal even if it means a bit of an increase of the Commission and if it comes down to it rewards here in Patreon
