6/3/17 Illinois Chronicles #4 and Yakuza

Since I only have my laptop on me, I figured I should do a little teaser for things to come. I've been working on changing up the dialogue system slightly. It's so slight you might not even notice it, but it has to do with the randomization of dialogue which is another feature I've been working on. Recently I've been watching a Let's Play on youtube from the channel called Super Best Friends. The game is called Yakuza 0, and those familiar with the game should know where I'm getting at. The Yakuza series of games is an open world game where your character goes through a detailed city with a myriad of locations to explore and interact with. Aside from the main story line in the game, the player also has a butt load: http://blog.andrewallingham.info/2011/06/the-difference-between-a-buttload-boatload-and-shitload/
of sidequests for the MC to partake in. The creative use of these sidequests and how seamless the intrude on the main game really inspires me in my own game.
Now, in terms of my own game, something I've been thinking of a lot lately is character customization. Currently, the main character is restricted to their current design. For some of you in the demo, you may have found out that you can change your appearance by un-equipping your clothes. The same can be done if you equip a different outfit. Aside from that, I have plans on alternate characters being pickable. The process is as easy as re-doing all of the emotions in the player library with a different character and renaming them as the file for the player in the game files. I don't know if it will be possible in game, but I'm working on ways for it to be done.

I really like the idea of diffrent choosable main charakters. It whould make playing a second time with a diffrent stile (completely top/bottom) even more fun.
