YOUR BACKGROUND IS MORE THAN WHO YOU WERE
For some characters, their background represents their lives when they aren’t in the dungeon or out saving the world. It includes aspects of ambitions, their place in society, and their recognized authority. Such advancements are optional even in a campaign that uses these rules, for with authority comes responsibility. Other characters grow and change to the point that a different background represents who they are, but their original one is still important for the story of who they were.
This product introduces Advanced Backgrounds, which complement your existing Background with new features.

2021-03-29 03:53:04 +0000 UTCI'd be interested in exploring the different directions that you could take Far Traveler, especially in terms of travelers from other planes or spheres. What does it look like when you double down on Background that represents PC's fey origins? Or that they are a visitor from the Shadowfell? Or from an elemental plane? Or an Astral Domain/Outer Plane? One might beguile, another intimidate, and still another attempt to mold the area around them to be more like their home plane, for example.

The reason I wanted to stick to PH Backgrounds in this one is just so you don't wind up needing half a dozen books to feel like you can use this one $3.95 product, you know? I'm definitely accepting ideas for additional Advanced Backgrounds that aren't sufficiently supported!
