I use a lot of the techniques of generating randomness in my creative writing - cut up texts etc. I have also started to use them in my illustrations eg picking 3 paint colours at random, and painting with them randomly eg without looking what colour the brush is picking up. All interesting, and I love scrolling through other people's AI because their images spark so many ideas.
