If you wonder why you get videos at the same time as everyone else at the moment. That's because i'm trailing a bit behind. This will probably stay like this for at least another 1-2 weeks, while i'm trying to catch up. ;)
Best Shortcuts for Affinity Photo, that you have probably never heard of:
ALT + Click: Select overlapping layer content
CTRL + K: Find selcted Layer in Layers Tab
SHIFT + Rotate: 15 Degree iterations
"." (Perido): Reset Selection Box
";" (Semicolon): Toggle Snapping
ALT + Drag: Disable Snapping momentarily
CTRL + 0/1/2/3/4: Zoom Out/100%/200%/400%/800%
Click Mousewheel (Mouse Button 3): Move Canvas
"⇥" (Tab): Toggle UI
X: Swap Main/Secondary Color
Shift+X: Swap Stroke/Fill Color

2019-11-01 21:45:18 +0000 UTCHi Dave, sorry for my late answer. Not sure how i missed your comment. I assume that you are having problems with copying parts, because your layer is (image) not (pixel) - look in the layer tab next to the name of that layer. If that is the case, right-click and rasterize. You might want to dublicate it before that to have a backup you can get back to. If that is done, you simply use any of the selection tools to select the area you want to copy and then press CTRL+C to copy and CTRL+V to paste it in there, which will create a new layer with just that content. Remember this only works with pixel layers. You can not copy part of a (image) layer or part of a curves layer that way

2019-11-01 16:44:02 +0000 UTCHi Olivio - I've been struggling with something that I thought would be super simply, but as i'm new to Affinity i'm having trouble. How can I select and move / copy a portion of an image and relocate it to another layer or location? I think a good example would be a head-swap. Or, you recently used an aerial image of an ocean bay with boats.. What if I wanted to copy one of the boats and move it to another location or place 15 of the same boats in different area's of the bay? Thanks!
