Affinity Photo - 5 Super Tricks - That will save you Mind

You are welcome, Christopher :) I like these tricks videos too. AP is so much more fun with a bag full of ideas what to do with it or how to get there :)

I'm old fashioned. When I first started as a newspaper photographer/reporter (in the early 1960's), the "rule of thirds" was a LAW, not just a suggestion. I still tend to put my horizons at either the lower or upper third mark. It's a hard habit to break. In those days, if your photos didn't match the official style for the paper, they didn't get printed. The only exception to that rule was for people (sometimes other newsworthy subjects) and they were centered in the photo. Creativity in composition was not encouraged.

Hi William, sounds great. Could you explain why the horizon is at 1/3 specifically? :)

Olivio Sarikas

Hi Kevin, yes i totally agree. I also learn so much new way and ideas through reading the feedback. Eveyone uses it differently, so they need & find different tricks :)

Hi Greg, the new artistic project is coming soon :)

Olivio....Thanks again. Lately I've been learning so much tips and tricks for Affinity I have to review your videos to keep up. Which is a good thing!!! Just the lesson on spacing out copied shapes will save me loads of time manually moving around chucks while making up a background texture. Oh, and the center of rotation....I never even knew about that!

One of my favorite uses for the guide trick is to set a horizontal guide at 1/3, then use it to place my horizon. Sometimes my horizon looks a little tilted, but when I actually check it, I find it is perfectly level. I trust the guide lines more than my eyes.

Hi, Olivio. Thanks for the tricks. I hope we get to do another artistic project soon.

Hi Olivio, another useful set of tricks. I was aware of some of them from using Illustrator in the past. I find that necessity is the mother of 'deep diving 'into the application until you find that oh so hidden feature!
