5 Reasons why OUR community is important

Dear Friends,

i LOVE to have you as my Patrons. It's such a joy. One thing I notice though, is that some of you are not using it's full potential. So I want to give you some encouraging thoughts:

1) Sharing is learning

You get sooooo much more out of the tutorials, when you share your creations here in our community. Not just passionate support from other members, but also feedback and hints on how to improve. I guarantee you that there is nothing to worry about.  We are all learning, we are all students who want to improve. And sharing keeps you active, encouraged and gives you vital feedback

2) Friends are inspiration

Meet other members and learn what drives them. There so much to see, share and talk about. Different aspirations, goals and backgrounds. All this makes creativity so rich and versatile. And this is what keeps us going. It's easy to pass over some days and then let it become a habit. But when you are part of an active community, it draws you in, to create, remix and drive yourself to do more and get better.

3) Shaping the community

Every community is a symbiotic network of people who bring together their ideas and passion. Like a river, they shape the path and landscape around it. So, your voice and actions count a lot. You shape where this channel goes. For example, i didn't think that inspiration could be a vital part of my tutorials, but now i do "Behind the Scenes" as well es Multi-Video Projects. And everyone benefits from it.

4) A Network is safety

It's hard to crate alone, stay motivated and believe in your powers. But they are there. Maybe they are still raw and untrained, but by being here you already did more than 99% of the people who just dream of being creative. Connecting with other creators gives you that much more security. To know it's normal and ok to start somewhere give you a lot of strength. Even I get shivers before publishing every video. But you give me the strength to keep on going and learn that my work is valued. This will work for you the same way. :)

5) The rich knowledge is behind the surface

Watching the tutorials is nice, but it is only the beginning. The cover of the book. There is so much more to be found when you dig a little bit deeper. Often, here on Patreon we have nice talks, share links, give extra insights, find new ideas. Members write interesting comments and I try to answer every comment and message I get and provide some extra insight. It's the difference between eating at a nice restaurant and having a look in the kitchen to talk with the team.

Wonder where that community can be found? Right here:

great idea. Sorry that i saw this comment so late. Sometimes i don't get a message when new comments are posted

Awesome, i'm happy this works for you and inspired you. Yes, it's really hard to find interactive tutorial groups. Most online lectures that provide feedback and direct interaction with the lecturer start at around 300$ Now that summertime is ending, i hope our community grows even more and we get some more people to share and participate :)

Olivio, your posting was very well written. I think it may inspire more participation in our little community. People need to not be shy and share with others what they are working on. For me, this is the kind of interaction I’ve been looking for. Me, I’ve spent many years as an amateur photographer and Photoshop user. Retired, I now spend my time learning to use tools on my iPad, like AP. I’ve taken several courses for AP but this is the first time I’ve found an interactive experience. I’ve never considered myself very creative. This group may find I have hidden abilities. Thank you all for this opportunity.

I'm pleased that you find them relaxing, they certainly come over that way but at the same time delivering a serious message. In terms of techniques, I mean some of the basics. For example, in the latest RRH EP 02, you create a layer, then change it to overlay, then paint on it. I can see the effect but I would never have thought about doing that to achieve a particular outcome. For me, I just need to understand "why" and "when". Don't worry to much about this, as I'm sure this is due to lack of experience on my part. I know that I'll learn these things by following along and having a go.

At the moment, the behind the scenes and creative projects are actually relaxing, because those are things i'm more used to doing. A slight worry is about the techniques, because, as you can see already, most projects use pretty much the same techniques to create a almost endless list of creative projects. That said, it would be a huge help for me, if you could list some of the techniques you would want to see. :)

I very much enjoy your videos, as they bring so much more than technique (although I still need that too). It is what you use that technique to achieve that I am beginning to learn. I started out as a photo retoucher, but now I am on a much longer path of creativity. My worry, if I have one, is that you have taken on quite a lot of work to create the videos (including, now, behind the scenes). I just hope you don't run out of ideas to inspire us! Thank you as always for sharing your experience.
