Hi Kevin, thank you very much. Yes, those composition aspects are pretty interesting to know and help a lot when constructing a composition. :) It's really fun to play around with them. Quick and messy is the way to go here. Btw.: A great exercise is to download some finished works by other artists and draw in all the lines you can find. You can search on youtube for videos about composition, especially in painting, to find even more of these concepts

Your insights into home/away and eye line are important and not something I was familiar with. The idea of masking a photo to get the essential elements and the quickness of working seems to keep the creative spark going.
