## What is it?
Frequency Separation is basically edge detection, that splits the photo in two layers. One with all the Details and one with all the unsharp rest.
## What is it good for?
The separation of details and unsharp parts of a photo enables us to edit and improve the photo, while keeping all the sharp and crisp details in place. The result is a very natural and good looking photo that still has it's original feel.
## Where is it best used?
Mostly this is useful for improving Skin and Model Shots. But it can also be used in any other photo where it is key to protect the details. For example if you create textures for 3D art this can be beneficial to clean up a texture without hurting the sharp details and natural structure of the texture.
