Affinity Photo - Print Ready Tutorial

Hello Friends :)

This time i will show you everything you need to know about how to prepare a file for PRINT. No matter if you want to create a postcard, poster, sticker or car print. This will help you get it done and get the results you want.

 ## Things to look out for

### Bleed Size
The Bleed Size is the zone where the Print Company will cut the paper. So you should not put any vital elements in that Area. But you should expand everything that need to fill the background or stick over the edge to go beyond the border of the Bleed, so there will be no white, unprinted areas

### Save Zone
Make sure that every important part of your design is inside the Save Zone - so all text, logos and other important elements that should not be cut should be inside the save zone

### Give your Design room
You want to keep a distance to the border of your print to make it look more open and natural. Don't put text or logos directly at the border. Pro Tip: Always give more space than what look correct on the screen. I will look smaller and more dense in the final print.

### Test Print
If the colors are super important to you, order a test print. It is not cheap, but it is well worth the money compared to looking bad in front of your customers. Of course you should only do this as a designer AFTER you asked you customers if they want it and want to pay for it.

### Avoid solid colors
With printing a lot depends on the paper, color chemistry, coding, material - tons of factors that will change your color. So if you use a solid color in the background, you are betting everything on one color. Instead use a gradient or a multi color design or photo. That way, even it the colors look different there is still a high chance that it will look good.
