LifeBrick - MCU Steve Rogers

It’s not often we custom fig collectors get civilian variants! So this fella is a real treat!

Though it’s not an amazing figure, it’s still pretty dang good! It could have been cursed with over-design like tons of unnecessary wrinkles on the pants and jacket, but we dodged a bullet! But uh, those feet are awfully distracting aren’t they?

Probably the most overly detailed part of the entire fig are those two shoes that have quite literally five layers of ink over them. Three shades of grey, plus black and white! It’s just too much!

Honestly, if we could have just gotten like two layers of ink, I would’ve been satisfied. But the fact that LB added dotted texture among all the rest of it… oof! It’s a lot!

The hair is also a bit extra. It’s not the most detailed hair we’ve seen, but it’s not as smooth as I’d like it either…

The overall shaping is quite nice, but the whole thing could have benefited from being smoothed over a bit. Sure, the front quiff is nice, but the sides and back of this element are far too textural for a minifig in my opinion.

Even stranger, is how it wasn’t nearly this textured in the initial preorder renders, so I’m not sure what happened there…

This next sentence is gonna sound hella controversial to what I literally just said. But the hyper detailed shield absolutely rocks! …I wanna think (justify) that it’s because this shield is a focal point of his look and not a textural thing? idk I just don’t like the hair that much, but I love that shield! There I said it!

The base layer of drum lacqueréd silver with that black ink wash over the top of it is just SO good! Not to mention the final overlaid dark red print on top of everything for the “chipped paint” look! Gettouta here! It’s a very cool piece from a production standpoint and I think that’s another reason why I like it so much 😅

Lastly the fig also included a second head to give us a third expression! So before I forget, here’s what it looks like on the Stealth Suit (with and without custom hair!)

All in all, Steve here is a pretty decent fig with some fun custom parts that almost work better on other figs! 😅 While it’s not my favorite in the collection of four, it’s still a LifeBrick fig! Ya gotta love em!
