Well it’s that time once again for another MrJ Lantern fig! And well it’s not like, amazing. It’s pretty okay, but nothing stellar.

Larfleeze is a character that relies a bit heavily on his gangly silhouette and weird goat-like limbs, so this was gonna be an uphill battle no matter how you looked at it! But unfortunately in minifig form however... MrJ still could've done better.

His overall minifig design here is extremely unbalanced! I mean come on MrJ, you couldn’t have given us some simple muscle lines on those legs at the very least? Or hell, simplify the head design a little to look more like Lego?

I’m just gonna get it off my chest and say it like it is. This one ain’t great. I’m kinda disappointed that my $60 went towards a blank pair of legs, a decent torso, and an action figure head.

I mentioned it back in my Yellow Lantern jumbo review, but I found that yet again MrJ really didn’t take any design liberties with their custom head molds. The adaptation of them were very literal, to the point where they come off as uncanny when stuck to a minifig.

This is a perfect example of that repeated again here.

I mean I could nitpick further here but we all know it just looks a little “not right”

Then of course this wildly over detailed head looks even further out of place when you see those plain orange legs paired with him. I even tried a simple leg swap to see if it could solve some of my issues I have, but it only ends up looking a little weird given how the lower area of the torso was designed...

Again at the very least, we could've gotten some minor muscle print to give us a little bit of something. Hell, on the farther range of the spectrum, some orange colored “Faun Legs” like we saw with Hades BTAS Manbat would've been better than blank orange legs! Even if they those faun legs were still a solid orange, at least they wouldn’t look as out of place!

While MrJ has been producing some well needed characters I’m missing in the collection… their Lanterns series has been pretty hit-or-miss.

Can’t win ‘em all I suppose 🤷🏻‍♂️
