ZKJ.Brick - Duel Eknham & Maash

Hey look at that! Two more Yellow Lanterns?! Crazy! (are you sick of these yet?)

ZKJ has recently dipped their toes into the Green Lantern mythos, and come to us with two bangers! Duel Eknham & Maash! Two instantly recognizable characters if you know your Quardian neighbors like I do! 😅

Eknham was top billed when I ordered these two, so we’ll chat about him first! 

He uses an interesting CitizenBrick inspired double-head concept here to perfect use! And the design across it is perfect! Very Lego-Like, but also juuuust barely spooky enough to match the body-horror vibes this character gives off!

He’s genuinely the perfect balance between the two, and it’s a testament to how good of a designer ZKJ is! 

I also enjoy how ZKJ didn’t just give him the stock-standard Sinestro Corps look to the torso, but actually too the time to create something that feels unique to this character! A little pudgy around the middle, with some nonsymmetrical details on the back!

I do feel inclined to mention that the custom head isn’t smooth to the touch however. You can sort of see it in my photos here, but the entire element is matte-like. It almost feels like it missing a final gloss coat over the element, but it has none.

But omitting that one aspect of production, it’s a really great fig and seems as though ZKJ really thought through their design process!

Then of course Maash is a wonderful fig too! 

That custom alien head being modeled to look like stacked minifig heads takes me back to the old flickr days, when folks would just stack three Lord of The Rings orc heads on top of eachother 😆

But this right here is the real deal! Wow! All three faces have different expressions! The chins are well defined until they all merge into one in the back! Oh my gosh this is great! 

Again Maash has his own torso design distinct to Eknham that’s fits his character. I’d argue this is THE more “stock standard” Sinestro Corps uniform given how straight laces this dude is, so it fits perfectly!

Oh, and I forgot to mention it above, but both of these figs are printed over yellow torsos (which you’d think would be the obvious production choice when printing Yellow Lantern’s, but you’d be surprised!) So ZKJ was able to accomplish that yellow over the shoulder look! Guh! So good!

And you wanna know my favorite detail about both of these figs?

These two are great! I’m genuinely quite happy with how these turned out! Not only were they a good price at $100 for the pair (Yes! Just $50 per fig!), but they were easy to buy, and got sent to me within a month of being ordered back in late June!

Good stuff ZKJ! Good stuff indeed! Keep it up! 🤘🏻
