Gourmet Hunter - Chapter 508

Chapter 508: Bruna

The glowing jellyfish-like creature looked harmless, only curiously observing Luo and his companions.

Through the light emitted by the flowing red liquid, the structure of the jellyfish-like creature could be roughly seen.

It had a head similar to a human, wrapped in a half-bloomed flower bud, with translucent wings floating gently from the shoulders on both sides. Upon closer inspection, it looked like a weather doll suspended in mid-air.

On the jellyfish's head, there were two black eyes, which rolled around smoothly as it observed.

It floated in mid-air like a jellyfish in the sea, drifting around the group while making "blu-blu" sounds.

Since the jellyfish-like creature showed no hostility, Luo did not attack immediately. He turned to the black cat on his shoulder and asked, "Can you understand what this thing is saying?"

"How could I possibly understand!" The black cat's eyes widened.

Luo shook his head and muttered, "Useless."

The black cat's face froze, wanting to slap Luo, but Luo wasn't someone to be bullied like Tonpa.

"Blu-blu."

The red jellyfish-like creature floated in front of Luo, its black eyes rotating like a crab's eyes.

It seemed to be continuously communicating with Luo and the others, but Luo did not respond.

"What should we do?" Tonpa asked in a low voice.

"Wait and see."

Luo glanced at the jellyfish-like creature and then looked back in the direction they had come from.

If this was an underwater cave, even if the boat wasn't destroyed, leaving wouldn't be easy. Even if they managed to return to the surface, completing the remaining journey would be a massive challenge.

At this moment, the jellyfish-like creature made a move, extending two tentacles from above its head towards Luo's temples.

Luo raised his eyebrows slightly. Although the creature showed no hostility, physical contact still required caution.

As the tentacles reached towards Luo, Bisky and Tonpa's expressions changed. Luo took two steps back to avoid the tentacles.

Seeing Luo dodging, the jellyfish-like creature's tentacles paused in mid-air, tilting its head as if puzzled.

"Blu-blu."

It made its unique sound again, unclear what it was saying.

Bisky watched this scene and whispered, "It seems to want to communicate with us."

Luo was startled by her words and looked at Bisky, hesitating, "Those tentacles?"

The jellyfish-like creature's gesture of extending its tentacles towards his temples, coupled with Bisky's guess, made him think it might be trying to communicate through contact.

Bisky understood and asked, "Do you want to try?"

"What do you think?" Luo couldn't make a decisive choice.

"We don't know what it is." Bisky reminded.

This reminder was indeed valid for Luo.

White Smoke Font!

Luo reached out and touched the tentacles of the jellyfish-like creature.

At that moment, the creature seemed startled by Luo's proactive behavior, shrinking back, its red light turning into a faint green. The White Smoke Font provided a brief, terrifyingly concise piece of information about the creature.

"Bru tribe?"

Luo murmured softly. The White Smoke Font gave only minimal information, merely indicating the creature's species and some unique symbols.

The glowing liquid was the Bru tribe's life energy, with its brightness indicating age and vitality, while color changes reflected their emotions.

The Bru tribe was a gentle species, and the tentacle gesture was indeed a way to communicate with other species. They were also very sensitive to the emotions of intelligent beings.

Judging by the brightness of the glow, this was an adult Bru, and its current green light suggested it was frightened by Luo.

Luo lightly tapped his temple with his finger, signaling the Bru to extend its tentacles for contact.

The Bru cautiously extended its half-retracted head, carefully watching Luo.

Its intelligence seemed high, understanding Luo's intent from his gesture.

After a moment of hesitation, it slowly floated towards Luo, extending its tentacles towards his temples again.

The first time, it was less than two meters from Luo. This time, it stretched its tentacles from five meters away, and the glow remained green.

Luo noticed this and thought that he had indeed scared it earlier.

"Luo?" Bisky whispered.

Luo gently waved his hand to indicate it was fine.

Bisky, hearing Luo's muttering and feeling puzzled, saw him wanting to verify his guess. She felt an urge to stop him, but Luo's assurance made her decide to wait and see.

The tentacles touched Luo's temples.

The sensation was cool and soft, like jelly.

Just by touching, a connection was established.

"Hello."

A polite female voice sounded in his mind.

Luo was slightly surprised and instinctively asked, "Are you from the Bru tribe?"

Bisky and Tonpa were surprised by Luo's words, while the green glow from the Bru turned red.

"Yes, I have a name, Bruna. And you?"

"Luo."

This time, Luo spoke directly in his mind, communicating with Bruna.

This experience was truly amazing. Before meeting Bruna, who would have thought such a unique species existed in the world.

"Luo? Your name has only one character, while ours have three." Bruna said.

"Uh." Luo was momentarily speechless. In the Hunter world, names could even have ten characters. He changed the subject and asked, "Bruna, can you tell me where we are?"

"Inside a Rock Island Crab."

"Rock Island Crab?" Luo was shocked.

"Yes."

"You mean... we're inside a crab?" Luo found it hard to believe.

"Yes."

Luo felt a sudden chill, looking at the ground beneath him. It was clearly hard rock, not at all like being inside a crab.

Bruna seemed to sense Luo's confusion and explained, "Those are the Rock Island Crab's stones, they're everywhere!"

Luo nearly fell to the ground.

Damn stones!

Luo took a deep breath, calming his inner turmoil, and was about to speak when Bruna and Tonpa both reacted.

Bruna turned green, while Tonpa exclaimed, "A group of unknown creatures is approaching us."

"Those are the Rock Island Crab's parasites, very dangerous. Please follow me."

Bruna's glow deepened, indicating her fear.

Hearing this, Luo said to Tonpa and Bisky, "Follow Bruna."

Before the words finished, Bruna floated in a certain direction, moving quickly.

The three humans and one cat followed without hesitation.

"Can you communicate?" Bisky asked while moving.

"Yes."

Luo responded, then shared the information he had learned from Bruna.

Learning that they were inside a crab, Bisky and Tonpa had reactions similar to Luo's, finding it hard to accept.
