Gourmet Hunter - Chapter 480

Chapter 480: Autobiography

Recording the sights and sounds along the way in a book, just the thought of it made my blood boil.

Before the real adventure of the previous life began, I had already muddled my way into the world of Hunters.

Now, the faint spark had grown strong enough, and there were enough unknown places in the world of Hunters to write my own travelogue.

In the night, Luo's eyes gleamed with a dazzling light.

Two men with the same goal felt each other's blood heat up in their mutual gaze.

Luo slightly restrained his boiling emotions, raised his right hand, and with a surge of nen, the book "God's Hand" was conjured up, and then he picked up a piece of white ash stone from the ground.

Jin didn't know what Luo intended to do and watched him curiously.

Luo opened the book, flipped to the first page, and drew a clear white mark on the black page with the white ash stone pinched between his fingers.

Seeing this, Jin linked it to the topic they had just discussed and realized that Luo might want to write an autobiography or travelogue.

Therefore, leaving a mark with the white ash stone on the nen book was to confirm if the mark would remain after summoning and dismissing the book.

Was Luo planning to use his book with special abilities as a notebook?

"Someone who has such thoughts..."

Thinking of this, Jin sighed inwardly. Unfortunately, the conjured items do not retain foreign substances after being dismissed.

Luo didn't know what Jin was thinking. After leaving the white mark on the page, he directly dismissed the book, and in the glow of white light, white dust fell from the air.

"Does it not work?"

Watching the slowly falling dust, Luo summoned the book again and opened the first page. The previously left white mark was no longer there.

"You want to use the nen book as a portable notebook?" Jin looked at the imposing nen book in Luo's hand.

"Yeah, but it doesn't work. Maybe I need a nen pen." Luo smiled and used his left hand to shape a pen with nen.

Having one conjured item and wanting to conjure a second one is quite challenging.

Although Luo desired to conjure a pen for "God's Hand," he could only shape a rough form with nen. To conjure a real pen, it would take quite some time.

"You're really willful," Jin sighed.

"Nen is originally meant to serve one's needs. Actually, I want to conjure something like a dimensional apartment. However, with just the chaotic thoughts in my mind, even if I spend a long time, I may not achieve it."

Luo flipped his hands, dismissing both the book and the pen-shaped nen form.

"To conjure a dimensional apartment, you likely need someone born without a fixed abode and highly familiar with architecture," Jin touched his chin, then shifted the topic, "Don't you have that cat? It's somewhat similar."

"That's true," Luo looked at the flame crest on the back of his hand and said, "But it comes with troublesome restrictions. If it were more obedient, it would be very useful."

Jin smiled bitterly at these words. There is no such thing as a free lunch. He highly valued the multifunctional nen beast, Black Cat, even with its harsh restrictions, given its versatile efficacy.

"V5 signed a non-invasion treaty for the Dark Continent two hundred years ago. When was 'New World Chronicles' published?" Luo returned to the main topic.

"More than three hundred years ago," Jin replied.

"Over a hundred years earlier," Luo said.

Jin nodded, "In that century, failures and sacrifices led to V5 signing the treaty."

Openly signing the treaty, but secretly never stopping the research on the Dark Continent, and continuously raising the difficulty of reaching it—Luo and Jin were well aware of this.

"Anyway, if I want to go, I won't take the legal route," Luo turned and looked towards the sea, calmly saying, "I don't want to waste unnecessary time on those four preparations."

Jin was momentarily speechless. He had to spend time on those four preparations, while Luo had much more freedom.

"How long has it been since this volcano last erupted?" Luo suddenly asked.

"I don't know the exact time, but since my grandmother's generation, no one in the family has mentioned a volcanic eruption," Jin replied.

"Is that so? Just in case, none of these things should be touched. What do you plan to do?" Luo looked down at the resilient lichen.

"Other than leaving it alone, what else can we do?"

Jin looked towards the volcano's crater. With those unknown entities, the divine characters must not be disturbed. A single mistake might destroy Whale Island.

Otherwise, he and Luo both would have liked to pry some lichen back for research.

"Indeed, we can only leave it alone." Luo nodded and said to Jin, "I'll stay a few more days before leaving. What about you? Sneaking back and then sneaking away again?"

"I can't see him," Jin said.

Luo was silent for a while and then said, "These days, interacting with Gon, I've had many urges to teach him nen, but you've already planned for him, right?"

"Yes," Jin replied straightforwardly, then added, "Don't do anything rash."

"If you don't want me to, then hurry up and deal with the wyverns," Luo said with a pout.

"Got it, got it," Jin scratched his head. Time was always too scarce, yet he had accepted this troublesome request from Luo.

They didn't linger on the mountain for long. They reburied the exposed lichen and then descended.

That night, Jin didn't leave immediately. He stayed on Whale Island for a night but left early the next morning without a word.

Luo didn't mind. He still led Gon to the forest that day. By the afternoon, on their way back, he told Gon he would be leaving in a couple of days.

Walking side by side on the village path under the twilight, Gon said reluctantly, "Can't you stay a bit longer?"

Luo shook his head, "No, I have some matters to attend to."

He learned about Dong Fuli from Jin yesterday and wanted to write his own adventure memoir. So the journey to the Dark Continent had been put on his agenda.

To go there, he needed a ship that could cross the sea and sufficient supplies. The key after that was whether to go once the data average exceeded 80% or before it did.

The current average was 78%, although only 2% short. To make up for it would take quite a long time, and even after that, he would face an unknown duration of "Zetsu."

Unable to persuade Luo to stay longer, Gon felt very disappointed.

Luo looked at him without saying a word.

They walked in silence towards the house intertwined with trees.

Gon looked at his shadow stretched by the setting sun and suddenly turned to Luo, "Boss Luo."

"Hmm?"

"Can you come to my house for dinner tonight?"

Luo hesitated for a moment, seeing Gon's expectant face, and nodded.

"Yay!"

Gon jumped up in joy.
