The sound penetrated to the bone!
The continuous flow of music stripped the audience of their flesh, leaving only clothes and skeletons. Yet, the audience did not die; they fled, dragging their skeletal forms towards the door.
A white light emanated from the opened door, and one by one, the audience members rushed out, disappearing into the light.
Luo silently watched the audience flee, knowing this was a scene organized by the memory fragments of the Dark Sonata. Once the performance ended, he would return to reality.
"Clack, clack."
As the music gradually stopped, Luo heard the sound of teeth clattering. He turned his head to see the man playing the piano also transformed into a skeleton, seemingly laughing maniacally.
"Is this the effect of the piano solo?"
Luo watched the skeleton man rise from his chair, silently pondering.
The skeleton man, laughing all the while, walked towards where Luo stood, the place where the rainbow light fell.
"Eternal...life...take it...take it!"
Amid the clattering, Luo seemed to hear a broken sentence.
Before he could fully understand, he saw the skeleton man walk into the sunlight and suddenly turn to dust, disappearing before his eyes.
In the once packed hall, only Luo remained standing on the stage. There was no sound, like a silent drama.
"It's over."
Luo thought, but after a few minutes, he was still trapped in the memory fragment's illusion.
What's going on?
Luo's heart was slightly startled, the surroundings silent.
According to past experiences, he could not interfere with the scenarios played out in the illusion, and once the scene ended, his consciousness would return to reality. But this time was different; he had not left the illusion.
Luo frowned, jumped off the stage, walked through the audience seats, and headed towards the white light emanating from the door.
At the entrance, he tried to walk out directly but was bounced back by an invisible wall.
"What's going on?"
Luo's frown deepened, pressing his hand against the white light. It felt solid. He raised his hand and slapped it, his palm rebounding.
"Hu."
Luo exhaled, trying to summon True Master, but found that the flame tattoo of the black cat was no longer on the back of his hand.
The unusual situation made Luo feel a sense of crisis.
Unable to summon True Master, Luo gathered Nen in his palm and struck the transparent wall, only to be bounced back again without any sound.
"This is troublesome."
Luo rubbed his temples, striking the wall repeatedly, to no avail.
After circling the area, he understood that he was trapped in this narrow consciousness space.
"Black cat, if you can hear me, come out now!"
Unclear of the situation, Luo tried to contact the black cat.
After several shouts, the surroundings remained silent, and he was the only one in the entire hall.
......
In the museum, Luo held the score, his eyes open but dull.
The resentment in the score had been completely absorbed by Luo, making it look like an ordinary piece of beast skin.
At this moment, the black cat emerged from the flame tattoo on the back of his hand, landing on the ground and circling Luo.
"What's wrong with this guy?"
The black cat jumped onto the display case, looking at Luo's dull eyes, feeling something was wrong.
"Could something have happened?"
Thinking of this, the black cat's fur stood on end. If something happened to Luo, it would be doomed as well, causing it to panic.
"Tap, tap."
Footsteps came from below.
The black cat turned into a wisp of black smoke, hiding in an empty cabinet in the corner.
A young maid in a uniform walked up the stairs with a drink, looking at Luo standing motionless in front of the display case, and softly said, "Mr. Luo, this is freshly brewed tea."
Luo, trapped in the consciousness space, could not hear the maid's words and remained motionless.
The maid, seeing Luo unresponsive, looked puzzled and placed the tea on a nearby table, calling Luo's name several times without any response.
Feeling strange, she walked slowly behind Luo, calling his name while reaching out her hand.
Halfway, her hand recoiled as if electrocuted, then cautiously reached for Luo's right shoulder.
After a few breaths, her palm gently touched Luo's right shoulder, and she softly said, "Mr. Luo?"
Sizzle.
The maid's eyes widened in extreme fear as she saw her hand on Luo's shoulder turn to bone in a puff of white smoke.
The white smoke quickly spread from her hand to her arm, then her body, neck, and head.
The maid opened her mouth in horror, trying to scream, but only made clattering sounds.
The black cat, hiding in the cabinet, watched in shock as the living maid turned into a skeleton in less than two seconds, though her clothes remained.
"Dead?"
The black cat murmured.
The next moment, it saw the skeleton clattering as it ran down the stairs.
"Weird!"
It muttered, turning into black smoke and following.
Reaching the ground floor, it materialized and saw the maid's skeleton run out. As it bathed in sunlight, it instantly turned to powder, leaving a maid's uniform on the grass.
Seeing this, the black cat's heart jumped, and it hurried back to the top floor, looking at the motionless Luo, angrily saying, "You always mess with these weird things. If you get trapped, you'll drag me down too!"
In the consciousness space, Luo had no idea what was happening outside. He walked back and forth on the stage, clueless about how to escape.
Here, he could release Nen, but the black cat was not present, and he could not summon the white smoke font, though the score of the Dark Sonata was imprinted in his mind.
Suddenly, he looked at the black piano on the stage, a thought crossing his mind.
"Maybe..."
He stood still, pondering. Since it was a consciousness space, playing the piano solo here shouldn't be a problem, right?
With this thought, he walked to the piano and slowly sat down.
Before touching the score, he knew nothing about the piano. Now it was different; he didn't know other pieces but understood how to play the piano solo.
"Let's give it a try."
Luo held his breath, placing his hands on the keys. A deep, familiar feeling spread from his nerves to his hands and fingertips.
Slowly, he closed his eyes and pressed the keys.
The music started, the same prelude as the man before.
The sound of steel balls hitting the ice surface began, from slow to fast, turning into flowing water, then a gale, then a low wail...
The music flowed around, silently turning the stage curtains to dust.
Luo felt his Nen being drained rapidly, and it wasn't over, one surge after another.
Sizzle...!
The stage, seats, floor, and walls all turned to dust with the music.
Although Luo's eyes were closed, he saw it all in a strange way.
Maybe this will work.
Thinking this, he quickened his pace.
Soon, the piece approached its end, almost everything turning to dust. Finally, even the piano began to disintegrate.
At that moment, Luo felt his heart empty.
Before he could savor the feeling, the scene changed dramatically, and a black cat appeared before him.
"Back?"
Luo's eyes fell on the score in his hand.
Two pieces.
