2024-08-09 11:21:25 +0000 UTCI’ve never seen the Louisville one! That is hilarious! He’s wearing a green “jumper” because it is a practice game and you can’t hit the quarterback to protect them. If you look at the helmets, they have extra protection that isn’t allowed in normal games. Every team has an early preseason game, called a spring game. It’s a glorified practice open to the public. Tickets are usually free or at least dirt cheap. Some of the traditions still take place so it’s a cheap way to see teams you normally wouldn’t be able to afford. I’ve been to a couple, namely Auburn and Georgia. The game itself looks nothing like its normal game day counterpart. It’s offense vs defense and functions as a way for the team to simulate a game so as to better determine which players should play in which position without injury.

2024-08-09 10:41:44 +0000 UTCSo that GT vs Clemson one, what they did was switch the teams to “kick” at the last minute. If you count the players in white, there are only 10. In the chaos of the switch, they put one guy out wide just barely on the field and the defense never saw him. It was technically illegal, but the refs didn’t decide that til after the game was already over lol

The Hook and Ladder and the Statue of Liberty are the standouts, but BSU was pulling out multiple tricks to beat them. They met in a postseason bowl game and Oklahoma was supposed to beat them to a pulp, but not to be!
