2024-07-30 20:55:45 +0000 UTCHe’s right about the Sooners. I think he read it right from Wikipedia. They were Sooners bc they jumped the gun on the available land (I guess too “soon”). Those that waited and legally claimed land (sometimes legally, that is) were “Boomers”. The football fans frequently chant “Boomer Sooners”.
