Southern University is in Baton Rouge, La. They are part of the HBCU, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (usually smaller schools). The HBCU marching bands are incredible and very different from typical marching bands. HBCU marching bands compete against each other and it is a treat to watch. These bands typically have a dance team of girls rather than a drill team, flag corp or majorettes.
