The Counterattack Plan of A Villain With Ten Thousand Fans - Chapter 286

Chapter 286

Ge Lingsheng barely regained his composure, his mind racing. He had come to Wilan secretly, bringing only his agent and a few assistants, and had told no one else. He had also instructed the hotel not to disturb him, so it couldn’t be the hotel staff.

Who could it be then?

The doorbell paused for a moment, then rang again. Ge Lingsheng managed to compose his expression, straightened his slightly wrinkled shirt, and tidied his hair, ensuring he looked impeccable before he approached the door.

Peering through the peephole, the sight of the visitor made Ge Lingsheng sigh with relief, but then he frowned, hesitated, and opened the door.

“Mr. Ge.” Chen Xingyu's expression was appropriately eager. “Long time no see. Won’t you invite me in?”

“Mr. Chen, please come in.” Ge Lingsheng didn’t particularly like this male lead; in his eyes, these characters were merely tools to complete his missions.

He closed the door behind them and gestured to the sofa. “Mr. Chen, have a seat.”

Chen Xingyu glanced at the broken glass on the floor and the mobile phone tossed carelessly on the sofa, now turned off. “No need, Mr. Ge, I have something to say, and then I’ll leave.”

Ge Lingsheng noticed the folder in Chen Xingyu's hand and remembered the phone calls he had received earlier. His expression turned cold. “Go ahead.”

Chen Xingyu, unfazed by Ge Lingsheng’s demeanor, calmly opened the folder, revealing its contents. “I want to terminate our collaboration.”

How dare he?! Although Ge Lingsheng had guessed Chen Xingyu’s purpose, he could hardly contain his anger. However, his extensive mission experience allowed him to calm down quickly. He took a deep breath, suppressing the anger rising to the surface, and lowered his voice, “I think you know what you’re talking about.”

“Yes, Mr. Ge.” Chen Xingyu was calm, “Our agreement was that you would help my artists become international stars, and in return, I would disperse my artists under your company’s management.”

“That’s right,” Ge Lingsheng answered. The agreement seemed to favor Chen Xingyu on the surface, but in reality, it benefitted both parties, as Chen Xingyu’s system provided plentiful resources which were beneficial for the overall strength of the company.

“So, according to our agreement, now that you no longer have the capability to fulfill the contract, I believe I have the right to dissolve it, seeking better opportunities for my artists,” Chen Xingyu stated calmly. “So please sign here, Mr. Ge.”

“You!” Even Ge Lingsheng’s patience had limits, and he wasn’t a nice person to begin with. The world had worn down much of his patience. He angrily slapped away the pen Chen Xingyu handed him and grabbed his collar, raising his fist.

“Negative emotions are about to exceed the critical threshold, please control yourself, host,” a cold voice from the system intervened, halting Ge Lingsheng’s next move. “The male lead is a supporting character for the host. It is advisable to maintain a good relationship with the male lead. Given the current collapse of the host’s company, terminating the contract with the male lead might preserve his strength to the greatest extent. Please make a wise decision, host. Current mission success rate is 60%, please continue to work hard, host.”

Ge Lingsheng gritted his teeth, his fist loosening then tightening again. Finally, he put on a friendly smile, straightened Chen Xingyu’s collar, and laughed, “Haha, Mr. Chen, I was just joking, please don’t take it to heart. Since I can’t be of help anymore, naturally I should terminate our contract.” He picked up the pen he had knocked aside and neatly signed his name on the document, handing it back to Chen Xingyu. “There you go, Mr. Chen. I look forward to working with you again. I have some urgent matters to attend to now, so I won’t see you out.”

After achieving his desired outcome, Chen Xingyu had no interest in further entanglement with Ge Lingsheng. Although Ge Lingsheng held a high position in the entertainment industry, it could not bring him much help, especially now that his company was nearly bankrupt. Chen Xingyu’s company framework was fully established and could operate independently without Ge Lingsheng’s involvement.

Ge Lingsheng, outmaneuvered by a mere character in the plot, kicked the solid wood coffee table with such force that it flew across the room and crashed into the TV cabinet, producing a chilling, hair-raising noise.

After venting his frustration, Ge Lingsheng finally remembered

the point he had overlooked. “051, how did the male lead find out about my company’s situation? And why did he come here?” A superstar cultivation system shouldn’t have been able to uncover that.

“Re…” Just as 051 began to respond, its voice abruptly stopped. No matter how Ge Lingsheng called, it didn’t answer again, as if it had lost connection with him.

This had never happened before, and Ge Lingsheng broke out in cold sweat. “051?”

“This question it might not be able to answer anymore,” a voice came from behind Ge Lingsheng.

Ge Lingsheng spun around so quickly he nearly twisted his neck, and gasped when he saw the man standing a few steps away, “How is it you? How did you get in?”

He knew the man all too well. In fact, he had ordered his assassination just the day before. Yet what shocked him most was that with his keen senses, he hadn’t noticed how the man had entered. If he hadn’t spoken, Ge Lingsheng wouldn’t have even realized there was someone else in the room.

Qin Muheng didn’t speak immediately, sizing up Ge Lingsheng, seemingly assessing something. After about five seconds, he withdrew his gaze.

By the time Ge Lingsheng reacted, he found himself backed into a corner, his body covered in cold sweat, too afraid to divert his eyes.

Having been a mission agent for so long, seeking advantages and avoiding disadvantages had nearly become his instinct.

Being killed by a non-agent in the mission world meant merely a mission failure, but this was not as simple as a mission failure now. He could distinctly feel that although this man wasn’t a mission agent, he posed a threat to him, even... a threat to kill him outright.

“Who, who exactly are you?” Ge Lingsheng managed to swallow and finally spoke.

“I?” Qin Muheng’s expression changed little, “Just an ordinary person.”

An ordinary person? Could an ordinary person recover from such serious injuries in one day? Could an ordinary person make his system so fearful? Even afraid to speak, Ge Lingsheng held his breath, unable to retort, but he couldn’t have retorted anyway. In almost the blink of an eye, Qin Muheng had approached him, and his neck was in the man’s grasp, without Ge Lingsheng able to muster any resistance. “Why, why?”

“You shouldn’t have moved against him,” Qin Muheng said softly.

Instinctively thinking of that minor mission agent and combining it with his recent actions, Ge Lingsheng’s pupils dilated, but that little mission agent had never told him his true name, his curse hadn’t been successful, how did this man know?

“Miss Su, we’ve arrived,” Qin Feng called to Ling Chunann, still somewhat uncomfortable with the address.

“You can call me young master, I won’t mind,” Ling Chunann said, knowing this identity wouldn’t last much longer.

“Yes, Young Master Su,” Qin Feng responded. “We’re at the Central Hotel now.”

“Hmm.” Ling Chunann didn’t move, watching a man walk past the car coming out of the hotel, “098, what’s the situation with the male lead now?”

“Replying to the host, while you and the adult launched an offensive against the mission agent’s company, I have already informed the male lead. The male lead has just taken the termination contract to the mission agent’s room, and judging from his expression, he has successfully terminated the contract. The male lead’s Huayao Entertainment is now fully established.” After a pause, 098 added, “Host, I just received new information. After the adult was attacked yesterday, the mission agent had passed the news to the male lead, but the male lead still plans to join forces with major media around the world to press you publicly. This time he plans to release news about... your gender, but due to the rush, the information has not yet been sent out. Do you need to destroy the data?”

098 was actually surprised; how could the male lead possibly know the host’s real gender? His little system had been blocked by it long ago, and the host had never shown it outside.

“Send me the data to see,” Ling Chunann said, looking out the car window.

098 quickly transmitted the data intercepted from Chen Xingyu to Ling Chunann.

The data was indeed real, also exactly the data of Su Su when Ling Chunann had come through, including birth, experiences, appearance, blood type, and even habits and hobbies, which must have taken the male lead’s system a lot of effort to collect. No wonder 098 was so nervous.

Ling Chunann read through it and then tossed it aside, smiling, “Let him send it, don’t forget, this Su Su is now working in Country A.”

“You mean…” 098 immediately understood,

 “I understand, host!”

The exchange between Ling Chunann and 098 wasn’t long, at least Qin Feng didn’t notice anything wrong.

Ling Chunann put on his jacket, ready to open the car door, when 098’s prompt made him pause, “Congratulations to the host for killing a special-grade mission agent, the reward includes all remaining energy points of the mission agent and 60% of the current mission completion energy points, which will be settled after returning to the mission space.”

Putting down the car door handle, Ling Chunann raised an eyebrow, “...I thought the mission agent had to be killed by my own hands.”

“That is correct,” 098 replied, then it speculated, “Perhaps because you and the adult have the same source power, so…”

Two minutes later, Qin Muheng opened the car door, flashing a brilliant smile at Ling Chunann, “Baby, let’s go home.”
