The Counterattack Plan of A Villain With Ten Thousand Fans - Chapter 210

Chapter 210

The person, clad in night-wear, only showed a pair of eyes and entered without making a sound, not even alerting the shadow guards. At this time, only Ling Chunann was in the room, with Xiao Hongjing in the study on the other side of the yard. Surprisingly, even Xiao Hongjing didn't notice him, suggesting the intruder's skills were nearly on par with Xiao's.

"Host, someone has entered!" 098 alerted the sleeping Ling Chunann, "He is Xueying."

Xueying, the top assassin from the first killer organization in the martial arts world, the Wind and Rain Tower, reputed for never failing a mission since he began.

"In the original story, Xueying didn't have a significant role, but due to his prowess, I had considered him as a potential main character," Ling Chunann replied without opening his eyes, "Do you guess what he's here for?"

098 immediately thought of the intruder's profession, "Assassination? Host, he's not here to kill you, is he?"

"I have no feud with him, why would he come to kill me?" Ling Chunann reasoned.

"But you have a feud with the female lead," 098 recalled, noting that Xueying had killed many for her in the story.

"The female lead probably thinks I'm long dead, and they haven't met by now," Ling Chunann answered, "098, your memory isn't too good."

Upon seeing Ling Chunann's face, Xueying gasped lightly, almost reaching out to him but then, like his arrival, left silently.

Feeling the unwelcome visitor leave, Ling Chunann opened his eyes, somewhat regretful, "He left just like that."

When Xiao Hongjing rushed in, finding Ling Chunann safe, he sighed in relief, "Baby, are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Ling Chunann blinked, feigning confusion, "What happened?"

"Glad you're okay," Xiao Hongjing sat beside him, wrapping him with a blanket, "Someone broke in just now, but Yingjiu is already on their trail."

Ling Chunann nodded, yawned, and snuggled into Xiao Hongjing's embrace, "Are you done with your work?"

"Almost, I'll take you out tomorrow," Xiao Hongjing promised, "Continue to sleep, I'll check outside."

"Okay."

After Xiao Hongjing left, more guards appeared at Ling Chunann's door.

"Host, what was Xueying here for?" 098 inquired.

Ling Chunann pondered for a few seconds before responding, "Want to know?"

098 eagerly affirmed.

"I don't know," Ling Chunann replied.

Ling Chunann, of course, knew but enjoyed teasing 098, finding amusement in its befuddlement. Given the current situation, Ling Chunann himself had no enemies, and any minor troubles caused by An Zhiqi in the capital had been smoothed over by Prince Anjing, so it was unlikely someone hired an assassin against him. Thus, Xiao Hongjing must be involved somehow.

However, it seemed Xueying harbored no intention to kill upon seeing him, leading Ling Chunann to return to sleep, his life returning to tranquility post the incident, possibly due to Xiao Hongjing's heightened security measures.

With the Martial Arts Tournament just two days away, participants had nearly all arrived, the entrance of the Tianshan Sect bustling with activity.

Among the diverse crowd, a group in white robes, especially their leading young hero, caught everyone's attention.

A young woman, smitten by the leading young man, asked if they were going to meet Master Xu first.

The young man nodded, instructing his juniors to follow the guide to their lodging while he would join them later.

The young woman, displeased at being left out, was reminded of her place with a simple "Junior sister."

Suddenly, 098 excitedly informed Ling Chunann that Lu Zhiqin was 200 meters away, suggesting they meet him. Despite 098's enthusiasm, Ling Chunann showed no interest, continuing with his writing.

After finishing his writing, Ling Chunann asked 098 to repeat its earlier statement, deciding then to go out and meet Lu Zhiqin.

Ling Chunann and Xiao Hongjing had been received as honored guests by the Tianshan Sect's head due to Xiao's unknown efforts, making it convenient for Ling to observe the martial artists visiting Master Xu.

Guided by 098, Ling inadvertently bumped into Lu Zhiqin. Lu, lost in thought, reflexively steadied Ling upon collision. After apologizing, Lu introduced himself as a member of the Kunlun Sect, there to participate in the tournament and visit Master Xu.

Ling, claiming to be there for the excitement and lacking martial arts skills, expressed admiration for Lu's abilities. Lu offered to teach Ling some basic martial techniques for health benefits in the future.

After a pleasant exchange, Lu revealed more about himself under Ling Chunann's skillful conversation, eventually parting with a promise to meet again the next day.

Observing Ling Chunann's good mood upon returning, 098 worried about its host's attraction to other men but was reassured when Ling merely commented on Lu's good looks and how easily he could be swayed.

Upon returning to their courtyard, Ling Chunann was immediately embraced by Xiao Hongjing, who, with a hint of jealousy, inquired about the man Ling had met. Ling honestly informed him it was Lu Zhiqin from the Kunlun Sect.

Xiao then asked, with increasing anxiety, whether Lu was more attractive than him. Ling Chunann, seeing Xiao's tension, reassured him with affection, "Even if you weren't good-looking, you'd still be my favorite."

Satisfied, Xiao Hongjing no longer pursued the matter, displaying a joyful grin that would have shattered his usually aloof demeanor if seen by others.

Lu Zhiqin returned to the Kunlun Sect's residence to find his fellow disciples eagerly awaiting his return. Their concern grew upon noticing his distracted demeanor, speculating if he had encountered something—or someone—that stirred his emotions.

Despite the disciples' curiosity, Lu dismissed their inquiries, attributing his delay to a prolonged visit with Master Xu.

The next morning, Lu, neatly dressed and slightly nervous, arrived at Ling Chunann's doorstep. After making sure he was at his best, he knocked on the door. When the door opened, he found himself unexpectedly greeted by Xiao Hongjing, who introduced himself as Ling's brother and invited Lu in to wait for Ling, who was still asleep.

As Lu sat down, feeling somewhat tense in Xiao's presence, a series of skilled servants began to attend to him, each so discreet in their movements that Lu was reminded of their martial prowess. This left him pondering the need for his martial arts instruction in a household evidently protected by such capable individuals.

The arrival of these skilled individuals, while meant to serve, inadvertently heightened Lu's apprehension, making him question the real strength lying within the serene exterior of Ling Chunann's abode and what role, if any, he could play in teaching them martial arts.
