The Counterattack Plan of A Villain With Ten Thousand Fans - Chapter 175

Chapter 175

Bai Yuanyuan desperately tried to shrink back, quickly realizing she was bound by ropes and couldn't move. However, her mental resilience had improved significantly over time, and she soon calmed down. "Dad, what are you doing?"

"Ha-ha, my obedient daughter, you still remember your dad," the man laughed heartily. "I've been locked up for so long, and you haven't visited me once. I thought you'd forgotten your dad. Turns out you've been enjoying the luxuries of wealthy households. How do the scholars say it? A dog... in luxury must not forget, right? Have you become too good to recognize your own father? After all, I raised you for over twenty years."

"No, I haven't forgotten. I was planning to pick you up from prison just the other day," Bai Yuanyuan explained, "but something came up, and I couldn't make it in time."

"Really?" Her father was skeptical.

"Of course," Bai Yuanyuan widened her eyes, trying to appear as sincere as possible. "Dad, please let me go. I promise to take good care of you from now on."

After a long look, her father stretched his arm towards the knot and soon untied the ropes.

Bai Yuanyuan, with gratitude, thanked her father while rubbing her wrists.

"Girl, don't you dare trick me," her father warned sternly. "Once your mother brings the money, you have to come back with me."

"Okay, dad," Bai Yuanyuan assured him.

A day went by, and Bai Yuanyuan, both tired and hungry, didn't dare make any sudden moves despite no longer being bound by ropes, because her father was constantly watching. She could only curl up in a corner quietly.

During this time, her father contacted Mrs. Lu several times, demanding with a coarse voice Bai Yuanyuan had never heard before, to transfer five billion into several accounts in installments. If she refused, he threatened to kill Bai Yuanyuan.

Bai Yuanyuan sharply noticed that her father wasn't lying. The murderous tone when he spoke of killing her made her nerves tense again.

She couldn't die here, Bai Yuanyuan thought to herself.

Finally, Bai Yuanyuan saw a rare opportunity.

Perhaps due to exhaustion from the past few days, her father eventually fell asleep against the wall near the door.

"Dad," Bai Yuanyuan whispered, but only received snoring in response. She carefully stood up and tiptoed to the door.

Confident Bai Yuanyuan wouldn't dare escape, her father hadn't even locked the door. Holding her breath, she glanced at her sleeping father one last time before touching the door latch.

What Bai Yuanyuan didn't expect was the loud creaking noise the door made upon opening, and her father's angry roar as he woke up, causing her face to turn pale instantly.

"Host, the female lead is in danger," 098 reported anxiously to Ling Chunann.

"No rush," Ling Chunann responded calmly after a while. "098, when did you develop such a panicky habit?"

"...I'm just worried about the host being able to stay in this world," 098 explained.

"Don't worry, since uncle promised to save her, she definitely won't die," Ling Chunann reassured. As for anything else that might happen, that was not his concern.

"Host, why don't you want to cure your eyes?" 098 changed the topic.

From the start, Ling Chunann had instructed Lu Linfeng not to meddle with the female lead, and he had declined several offers to cure his blindness, clearly not just because he was used to being blind.

"What else do you think could be the reason?" Ling Chunann countered.

098 was at a loss for words; it had never encountered such a willful host before.

About an hour later, 098 reported, "Energy points +20000."

Simultaneously, 098 deactivated the alert. "Host, the female lead is no longer in danger, but..."

"Is she disfigured or blind now?"

"..."

When Lu Yuan arrived with his men, Bai Yuanyuan was being violently pushed by her father against the sharp corners of discarded factory machinery.

"I told you to run! So, will you run again?!" he bellowed.

Bai Yuanyuan's face was bloody and unrecognizable. Barely hearing the door open, she lost consciousness.

Upon waking, Bai Yuanyuan found herself in complete darkness, hearing Mrs. Lu's sobs. Recalling her ordeal before fainting, she struggled to touch her face, only to feel thick bandages. She tried to speak, but her mouth was also bandaged.

"Yuanyuan, are you awake?" Mrs. Lu cried, holding Bai Yuanyuan's hand. "Mom's here, it's okay now, don't be afraid." She cried even harder upon remembering the doctor's words that her daughter might never see again and her face was disfigured, "My poor daughter..."

Two months later, with substantial financial injections, Lu Corporation, under the leadership of the Lu family head, was revived and regained its former glory. Meanwhile, the companies that had previously attacked Lu Corporation with relentless vigor, especially the Zhang family enterprise, which was closely related to Mrs. Lu, faced severe losses. Under the joint attack of Lu and Lin Corporations, the Zhang family business was on the brink of bankruptcy.

The Zhang family, naturally, directed their anger towards Mrs. Lu and her daughter. On the day Bai Yuanyuan was discharged from the hospital, they were driven out of the Zhang household.

Mrs. Lu had by now funneled nearly all her money into her family's coffers, with the remainder spent on Bai Yuanyuan's medical treatments. Unexpectedly, they were suddenly expelled, leaving mother and daughter homeless on the streets.

098 found this development highly satisfying.

Ling Chunann didn't stay in this vacation world for too long, considering it was a normal world where human lifespans didn't exceed a hundred years. Thus, when Lu Linfeng's life was nearing its end, Ling Chunann chose to return to the system space.

"Welcome back to the system space, host. You have earned a total of 122,000 energy points in this world, bringing your total to 200,000. The system store is now open. Would you like to make any purchases?"

Earning such a substantial amount of energy points from a vacation world was beyond 098's expectations, but it was largely thanks to the host's exceptional abilities.

Early on, 098 had sent an inquiry to its superiors upon Ling Chunann earning his first reward of over ten thousand energy points and had just received a response, which only increased its admiration for Ling Chunann.

In a world filled with random tasks totaling 130,000 energy points, Ling Chunann had managed to secure 122,000 of them.

098 wondered how the remaining 8,000 points were lost, considering it believed the host had performed flawlessly.

"I didn't accept the Lu family's inheritance," Ling Chunann explained.

098 then remembered an incident when the Lu family head, at the age of sixty, had approached Ling Chunann about inheritance matters, which Ling Chunann had refused.

That explained the missing 8,000 points. "But why didn't you accept it?" 098 asked. To it, 8,000 energy points was not an insignificant amount.

"Troublesome," Ling Chunann replied. Accepting the Lu family's assets would mean additional years of obligations.

098 understood its host's reasoning. "Alright, no shopping. Let's start the next mission," Ling Chunann said.

"Affirmative, host. Please wait, selecting mission. Selection complete, preparing to transport to the mission world..."

"Fenglan, Fenglan! I'm gonna die! Ah, I died! Fenglan, can you believe it? Dad died in his own windmill, what are you doing, Fenglan?"

Upon opening his eyes, Ling Chunann heard a booming voice with a regional accent through his headphones. He took off his headset, rubbed his ears, and looked at his computer screen, where a character in a pink dress was spinning in circles in a desert, near a gray-named character lying on the ground, and a blue-named character on horseback being chased by three players with red names.

"098, what's going on?" Ling Chunann asked, observing the dizzying character on the screen.

"Host, do you need an immediate plot transmission?" 098 inquired.

"Yes."

After receiving the plot information, Ling Chunann saw that the character named Fenglan had finally stopped spinning and was now standing in a city.

He found himself in a modern online game narrative, revolving around a game called "Jian Wang 3". The female lead, a college student known for her innocence, sweet voice, and cheerful personality, was a hit in the game world, even dubbed the faction goddess. She had countless admirers and eventually, alongside the male lead, overcame all obstacles to become a model couple envied by many.

Ling Chunann's role was that of a third party, named Feng Lan, a young master from a noble family without inheritance rights. Unlike most plots he had encountered, his interest wasn't in the female lead but the male lead. This preference might have been influenced by the gender of his game character.

As for the male lead, Ling Chunann found the character to be rather unsavory.

It was the start of a new season, and the original character had arranged to team up with two mates for the arena. By chance, they formed a nostalgic team but managed to win more than lose due to their skills, so they continued to team up.

"Fenglan, are you there?" came the regional accent through the headphones again.

"She must be busy. Didn't you see her character didn't move just now?" another voice with standard Mandarin replied.

"Aw, but we have to finish this round. Did you see how tragically I died? I didn't even get to finish my ultimate. Sobbing. The opposing side must be laughing at me."

Ling Chunann adjusted his headset and then activated the push-to-talk feature on the voice chat software. "Sorry, I had to step out for an emergency. Just got back to let you know I can't play today. Apologies."

"No worries, we'll play

next time," the player with the regional accent responded.

After a few more words, Ling Chunann closed the game interface and examined the voice changer on the computer. After testing the less-than-pleasing female voice it produced, he dismissed it with a click, deleting the program.

"Why did you delete it, host? That's essential for pretending to be a girl," 098 noted.

"The voice wasn't nice," Ling Chunann remarked. "The male lead is an audio enthusiast; that wouldn't have attracted him. What's the mission, by the way?"
