The Counterattack Plan of A Villain With Ten Thousand Fans - Chapter 129

Chapter 129

Vampires, aside from human and their kind's blood, also relish a rare and precious food, which Yuan Congshu's garden happened to have in abundance. This delicacy, known as blood plasma fruit, resembles grapes, which led Ling Chunann to initially mistake the garden's harvest for an ordinary vineyard.

After a hearty meal, Liang Youyi finally shared the whole story. "Before going to bed that night, my mother had me memorize an ancient poem for school the next day. When I woke up, I found myself in a strange room, starving but only craving human flesh. I felt like a monster and was terrified," he said, tears streaming down his face as he sobbed intermittently. "Driven by hunger, I ventured out in search of food and stumbled upon Shu Yiheng."

Despite Liang Youyi's youth and naive appearance, resembling a fully grown handsome young man, his tearful and snotty demeanor somewhat challenged the viewer's comfort.

From his account, it was clear he was oblivious to the vampire hunters watching him, unaware of his brush with death.

Ling Chunann, keeping this to himself, noticed Liang Youyi's attachment to him, as he would follow Ling Chunann everywhere, even sneaking into his room to watch him sleep for a sense of security.

Yuan Congshu, whose personal comfort was greatly disturbed, nonetheless tolerated Liang Youyi's presence out of consideration for Ling Chunann, his guest, and refrained from harsh words.

Three days later, Yuan Qi, acting as the temporary steward of the manor, reached his limit and messaged Yuan Jiu for help in their group chat.

Yuan Qi: Yuan Jiu! Help! When are you coming back?

Others: What happened? Aren't you working with the emperor? Did you anger him?

Yuan Qi: Nonsense, I'm doing fine. Yuan Jiu, come out, I know you're lurking.

Yuan Jiu: How am I lurking? I barely have time for group chats. Why not message me privately or call?

Yuan Qi: Why privately? And international calls are expensive, you know.

Yuan Jiu: Cheapskate. What do you want from me, the beauty? Hurry, I'm busy.

Yuan Qi: Boasting much? I'd say you're more of a beauty monster, with your charming looks.

Yuan Jiu: Jealous of my looks? But it seems you need my help. Now I'm offline, goodbye.

Yuan Qi: Wait, Yuan Jiu! I apologize! Come back!

Yuan Qi: Since the prince arrived three days ago, the emperor's been acting odd. I was even punished to sing to all the doves in the manor for three hours, my throat's sore. And now, the prince goes by Liang Youyi, sticking to the prince like glue.

The message drew out many lurkers.

Others: The emperor's jealous of the prince's attention.

Leader: Why did the prince change his name? Wasn't Liang Youyi his human name?

Yuan Qi: And singing to doves, didn't scare them to death?

Yuan Qi: Yuan Jiu, when are you coming? I'm resigning!

Yuan Jiu: Tomorrow night.

Yuan Qi: Great, I'll pick you up from the airport.

The next day, Yuan Qi indeed picked up Yuan Jiu from the airport, giving him a look that screamed "good luck" before hastily leaving the grand manor he once admired.

Yuan Jiu, left confused next to the car, realized the extent of the situation he was returning to.

The following morning, Yuan Jiu met the main characters of Yuan Qi's complaints. Yuan Congshu led the way, carrying Ling Chunann's backpack, with Ling Chunann a step behind, followed closely by Liang Youyi, who seemed anxious around strangers, reaching out to cling to Ling Chunann's sleeve. Noticing this, Yuan Congshu turned around with a look that made Liang Youyi retract his hand, tears welling up in his eyes.

Ling Chunann, used to their dynamics, greeted Yuan Jiu, "Yuan Jiu, welcome back."

Yuan Jiu, recovering from his stunned state, bowed respectfully, "I greet the emperor, and the prince."

Liang Youyi peeked out curiously, offering Yuan Jiu a rare smile.

"Perfect timing," said Yuan Congshu, pulling Liang Youyi from behind Ling Chunann, "he's your responsibility now. Keep an eye on him."

Yuan Jiu, catching Liang Youyi's frightened look, took him by the collar, "Yes, emperor."

"No, I want to stay with Shu Yiheng," Liang Youyi protested, struggling as he pleaded, "Shu Yiheng, please don't leave me. I'll be

 good."

Ling Chunann buckled up, asking, "Is there bad blood between Yuan Jiu and Liang Youyi?"

"A bit," Yuan Congshu replied nonchalantly, catching Ling Chunann's curious gaze and adding, "Two hundred years ago, they both fancied the same prey. Liang Youyi got there first, leading to a dispute and a fight, which Liang Youyi won, resulting in Yuan Jiu being 'conquered'."

098: "...Such explosive gossip."

Ling Chunann, however, was more interested in Yuan Congshu's knowledge of the matter, "How do you know all this?"

Yuan Congshu coughed lightly, "Living long can be somewhat boring."

Ling Chunann: "So, you had Yuan Qi wash pigs?"

Yuan Congshu: "..." His secret was well kept; who leaked the news?

As the exclusive butler to the Blood Emperor, Yuan Jiu indeed lived up to Yuan Congshu's expectations. That very night, tranquility was restored to the room, and Yuan Congshu once again climbed into Ling Chunann's bed.

A week flew by swiftly, and wherever one turned, there was buzz about Ran Fenglin. With three days left to the concert, numerous fans had already gathered at the central square outside the Jiangcheng Stadium. They kept a vigilant watch on every passerby, hoping to catch a glimpse of their idol. Some even set up camp on the square, undeterred by the urban management officers and dance groups who tried to drive them away multiple times, to no avail.

On Friday afternoon, outside Jiangcheng University, amidst the hustle and bustle of students, Su Ziqi pulled Zhang Yunya and Ling Chunann aside to say goodbye, "Yiheng, see you at the central square the day after tomorrow. Don't be late, okay?"

Ling Chunann nodded, "Okay."

Su Ziqi seemed worried and wanted to say more, but Zhang Yunya patted her head, "Alright, let's go. If we're late, the fish vendor will sell your fish to someone else."

"Oh, we better hurry then!" Su Ziqi exclaimed, pulling Zhang Yunya to run, only to turn back a few steps later, "Yiheng, are you sure you don't want to come home with us for fish?"

"No, thanks." Ling Chunann pointed towards Yuan Congshu approaching from a distance, "You guys go ahead."

Catching sight of Yuan Congshu, Zhang Yunya hesitated, then was dragged away by the oblivious Su Ziqi.

Before Yuan Congshu could reach them, 098 hurriedly shared its observation, "Host, I've noticed Zhang Yunya seems a bit odd whenever she sees you with Yuan Congshu."

Ling Chunann dismissed it, "She probably thinks I'm being kept."

"…" If being kept came with such perks, it wouldn't mind either.

The next day, Ling Chunann woke up naturally, and at that moment, his phone rang with an unknown caller.

098 warned, "Host, this is a secure government line, owned by the leader of the vampire hunters. You should be cautious." It suggested Ling Chunann might be better off ignoring the call, but Ling Chunann answered it anyway.

As Ling Chunann went downstairs, Yuan Jiu was in the yard watering the roses, while Liang Youyi played with the thorns on a flower. Suddenly spotting a firefly, Liang Youyi was mesmerized, almost touching the flower petals with his nose, oblivious to Ling Chunann's approach.

Upon seeing Ling Chunann, Yuan Jiu quickly set down the hose, respectfully greeting, "Good morning, Your Highness."

Liang Youyi turned, finger to his lips, "Shh! You scared it." Then, noticing Ling Chunann, his eyes lit up, and he leapt towards him. Just as he was about to embrace Ling Chunann, he was halted mid-air, struggling while shouting, "Let go, let me go!"

Yuan Jiu, expressionless, held Liang Youyi by the collar, "Quiet, or no food for you tomorrow!"

Yuan Jiu's words were effective. Liang Youyi pouted, ceasing his struggle and looking at Ling Chunann with a pitiful expression.

Ling Chunann naturally overlooked Liang Youyi's look, "Seems you two are getting along well."

"You flatter us, Your Highness." Yuan Jiu set Liang Youyi down, giving him a stern look. Liang Youyi straightened up, eyes pleadingly on Ling Chunann, then bowed his head as Yuan Jiu looked back at him. Seeing him finally behave, Yuan Jiu continued, "Your Highness, the Emperor had to leave urgently this morning but said he would return by noon."

Ling Chunann nodded, "I have to step out for a bit, I'll be back in the afternoon."

Hearing this, 098 became anxious, "Host, are you really going to meet him? This could be a trap."
