The Counterattack Plan of A Villain With Ten Thousand Fans - Chapter 128

Chapter 128

Upon glancing at the phone Liang Youyi held, Ling Chunann's eyes flickered with surprise, then he opened the door wider, inviting, "Come in."

098 hesitated, reminding, "Host, you promised not to have close contact with strangers."

Ling Chunann retorted, "I neither held his hand nor hugged him. How could that be considered close contact? 098, you're too innocent."

That seemed logical to 098, but then it snapped back to reality, realizing the potential danger of being alone in a room with a stranger, with the door locked no less.

At that moment, 098 forgot it was fundamentally an opposite-sex couple matching system.

Ling Chunann gestured towards the sofa, telling the reserved Liang Youyi, "Sit."

Liang Youyi, seemingly startled by Ling Chunann's sudden command, involuntarily shrank his neck before hesitantly sitting at the edge of the sofa. Then, he abruptly jumped up as if realizing he had sat on Ling Chunann's hat in his haste. Anxiously, he glanced at Ling Chunann, apologizing, "Sorry, I didn't do it on purpose."

"It's okay," Ling Chunann reassured, moving his hat aside, "Sit down."

098 commented, puzzled by Liang Youyi's behavior, "Host, why do I find him so strange?" His actions were far from the elegant and dignified vampire prince described in the original text, where male lead number six, despite his late appearance, was depicted as the most powerful, eventually persuading the group of male leads to share the female lead.

"It is a bit odd," Ling Chunann agreed with 098's observation, then elongated his tone, "Don't you think…"

"What?" 098 inquired.

"I'll confirm it first," Ling Chunann replied, successfully piquing 098's curiosity before sitting beside Liang Youyi, "You mentioned your phone rang. What was that about?"

Liang Youyi looked at his phone, puzzled, "Phone?"

"Yes," Ling Chunann nodded, not elaborating further before naturally asking, "How did you end up at this hotel?"

"I don't know. I suddenly woke up here a week ago," Liang Youyi shrank into the sofa corner, his body trembling, his face filled with fear, "I'm scared."

"Don't be afraid. Take your time," Ling Chunann said patiently, handing him a bottle of water, "Have some water."

Liang Youyi glanced at Ling Chunann before taking the bottle, "Thank you."

He drank half the bottle in one gulp, quickly finishing it off. After the bottle was emptied, he stopped, holding the bottle sheepishly, "Sorry...I was just very thirsty."

Ling Chunann handed him another bottle. Liang Youyi hesitated but accepted it, gently touching the bottle but not immediately opening it. He glanced again at Ling Chunann's neck, swallowed hard, then averted his gaze, "I think I've become a monster."

"Monster?" Ling Chunann echoed, "Why would you say that?"

After a moment of thought, Liang Youyi seemed to muster great courage before revealing, "I...I find myself wanting to eat people."

098 burst out, "Host, he's clearly a vampire. Why would he want to eat people?"

"It might be because he's equating bloodsucking with eating people," Ling Chunann analyzed, then asked Liang Youyi, "Eat people?"

"Yes," Liang Youyi calmed slightly upon seeing Ling Chunann's unafraid expression, then shivered again, "Every time I see someone, I want to bite them. My mother said, those who eat people are monsters." Fear filled his eyes, "I've become a monster."

Liang Youyi kept repeating this phrase, his voice laden with helplessness.

"Host, male lead number six seems unaware he's a vampire. Could he have lost his memory?" 098 speculated, "In the original text, he was a mid-level prince, but now his energy seems lower than that of a low-level prince. Could something have happened to him?"

"I think he's time-traveled," Ling Chunann suggested.

"Time-traveled?" 098 immediately dismissed the idea, "Impossible, his soul is still his own. If he were a transmigrator, I would have detected it."

"What if he time-traveled within his own timeline?" Ling Chunann asked.

"That's trickier, but not undetectable," 098 hesitated, not having considered this possibility, "I'll check."

Ling Chunann waited patiently, then asked the somewhat calmer Liang Youyi, "How old are you?"

"After the new year, I'll be eight years old," Liang Youyi responded.

"Host! I found it! His soul is still that of a child!" 098 announced.

098 and Liang Youyi spoke simultaneously.

"How did you figure it out?" 098 was amazed, admiring Ling Chunann even more for his insight.

"I guessed," Ling Chunann replied.

098, though skeptical of Ling Chunann's simple explanation, revered him even more, marveling at the host's foresight. However, seeing the pitiful "child" curled up on the sofa, it asked, "What do we do now, host?"

"Take him with us."

That evening, the vampire hunters who had been surveilling the vampire prince for three days were ready to close their net, only to find their prey had unexpectedly vanished.

A stern-faced man stood in the deserted hotel room, frowning, "What happened?"

The shorter man hastily reported, "Boss, Big Head and I have been watching him. He entered his room this afternoon and hasn't left since."

"Yeah, boss, you can check with the guys in the surveillance room. We haven't neglected our duty," the taller one added, with others in the surveillance room nodding in agreement.

The man touched the clean bedside table, "I'm not blaming you. After all, dealing with a prince-level vampire is challenging. Did any strange individuals visit this afternoon?"

"Are you suspecting he had accomplices?" the shorter one asked. "Makes sense, considering he's a prince. But I don't recall seeing anyone suspicious."

"No, there was one!" the taller one interjected, "Today, when Monkey and I were going downstairs, we saw a young man in his twenties wearing a hat. He gave off a strange vibe."

"Elaborate," the man known as the boss commanded.

"Well..." the taller one pondered for a few seconds, struggling for the right words before finally saying, "He was too good-looking."

The room fell silent for a few seconds before bursting into laughter.

"Hahaha... That's the funniest joke I've heard all year, haha!"

"Since when did you become so humorous, Big Head?"

...

"Alright," the man said sternly, silencing the laughter. He turned to the still blushing taller man, "Continue, what else?"

"I, I just noticed his looks," the taller man stuttered.

"Describe him in detail."

"Just... well, extremely good-looking," the taller man grew frustrated, "I swear, even among vampires, he'd stand out. You can ask Monkey, he was with me."

"Yes, yes," the shorter one nodded, then added, "Right, I noticed a cloud pattern on the left side of his hat brim. It looked familiar, but I can't remember where I've seen it."

The man then looked towards those who had been monitoring from the surveillance room.

They quickly responded, "Boss, he was always wearing that hat. We didn't see his face."

"I'll check with the hotel front desk," the shorter one dashed out, returning shortly, "The check-in info has been cleared, but the front desk saw his ID. She said he's from Qingcheng, but she wouldn't disclose his name."

"Alright, you've all worked hard these past few days. Take a two-day break and rest up."

After everyone had left, the man massaged his temples before picking up the phone.

With a beep, a calm male voice answered, "Dragon Team."

"Help me check, where is the old ghost Shu from nineteen years ago currently? Focus on Qingcheng."

"Understood."

"Host, someone is investigating your identity," 098, which had set up alerts for specific keywords online, detected the inquiry first, "It seems to be someone from the government."

"It's fine," Ling Chunann responded, then turned to Liang Youyi fiddling with things in the passenger seat, "Don't stick your hand out."

Liang Youyi quickly withdrew his hand, looking guilty, "Sorry."

Upon returning to the estate, Yuan Congshu, who had sensed Ling Chunann's return, was already waiting at the door. As soon as the car stopped, he rushed over, "Baby, you're back." Then his smile faded upon seeing Liang Youyi, curious in the passenger seat, "Why are you here?"

"Hello," Liang Youyi stuttered, intimidated by Yuan Congshu's aura, "My name is Liang Youyi. Yiheng brother brought me here. He said I could eat my fill by following him."

"Liang Youyi?" Yuan Congshu frowned, "When did you change your name?" Recognizing all prince-level subordinates, Yuan Congshu was familiar with them.

"I've always had this name," Liang Youyi looked to Ling Chunann for help, his expression utterly bewildered, nearly tearful.

"He's a friend I've invited over as a guest," Ling Chunann interjected, "Is there a problem?"

"No, no problem," Yuan Congshu immediately brightened up at Ling Chunann's words, "Baby, you can invite anyone you like."

098 remarked, "What a sycophant."
