The Villain Slaps The Protagonist’s Halo - Chapter 150

Chapter 150 - The final chapter of reality

Inside the Imperial Tribunal, chaos reigned. The rapid response team was rushing to the scene, but Nie Jia didn't take advantage of the confusion to escape. Instead, he made his way to the Prosecution Division building.

The members of the prosecution team responsible for Nie Jia's case were currently holding a small group meeting in the data room. When Nie Jia forcibly broke the biological lock with a slash, the explosive sound startled the three people inside. They turned to see Nie Jia, drenched in blood, wielding a knife as he quietly closed the door behind him. Instantly, fear gripped them.

"Nie Jia?! How... how did you get out?" The head of the prosecution team exclaimed, immediately rising from his seat in shock, his eyes fixed on Nie Jia.

Nie Jia remained silent. In his eyes, these people were already dead.

The blade glided with a chilling gleam as Nie Jia approached, and with a swift motion, he sliced off the head of a man who stood dazed at the table.

Blood splattered onto the head of the team leader, who screamed in terror and fell to the ground, panicked. He shouted desperately as Nie Jia approached step by step, "I'll tell you anything you want to know! Don't kill me!"

Nie Jia paid no heed, raising his knife to strike ruthlessly.

"We were just following orders!" the team leader shouted hastily.

Nie Jia paused in his actions, his voice dark, "Whose orders?"

Before the team leader could answer, Nie Jia was slammed against the wall by a force piercing through his chest. The overwhelming pain numbed his chest, leaving him feeling only the tense contraction of his muscles. Soon, the wound on his chest quickly healed. Pushing himself up with his knees, Nie Jia's gaze was filled with murderous intent.

The team member who fired the shot couldn't believe that Nie Jia was still alive after being shot. In a frenzy, he fired continuously, but Nie Jia dodged and then hurled his sword, impaling the team member on the wall.

Another person killed, Nie Jia turned his cold gaze to the team leader on the ground.

The team leader was drenched in cold sweat, gasping for breath. "We were just following orders. I'll tell you..." But Nie Jia was no longer interested in listening. With one punch, he shattered the team leader's teeth. This team leader, a civilian bureaucrat who had never set foot on the battlefield or experienced life and death, had never felt such excruciating pain before. Nie Jia's punch left him dazed, and half a second later, he collapsed, screaming in agony, clutching his bloodied face.

The security team burst in, only to be horrified by the bloody scene in the data room. Blood was everywhere, and even a head rolled to the door. The man pinned to the wall had already died, but Nie Jia was still relentlessly pounding on the already shattered skull of the team leader. He seemed oblivious to the fact that the man was already dead, his teeth clenched, his eyes filled with crazed hatred.

This scene was more terrifying and nauseating than the dismembered limbs in the blood chamber. Who would have thought that such a solemn and sacred place as the Imperial Tribunal would witness such a tragedy?

When Shi Chen arrived at the Imperial Tribunal, it was already too late. Nie Jia had done everything he wanted to do.

"Shi Chu, why are you here?" a judge greeted him. The man's face was calm, either completely unaware of what had happened inside or trying to conceal it from the outside world.

"I'm here to find someone," Shi Chen said, his face dark.

The judge asked, "Who are you looking for? Let me help you find them."

"I'm looking for Nie Jia," Shi Chen said, staring into the judge's eyes. He noticed a slight tremor in his pupils, and immediately understood.

Shi Chen pushed the man aside and took a few steps forward. Thousands of invisible bats swarmed out from him and flew to every corner of the Imperial Tribunal. The high-frequency screech of the alien creatures immediately enveloped the Imperial Tribunal, and almost simultaneously, the entire Imperial Tribunal ground to a halt as everyone writhed in agony, clutching their ears.

The bats' speed far surpassed that of all modern military weapons. Shi Chen shared their line of sight and found Nie Jia in the blink of an eye.

He saw Nie Jia's pale face, emotionless eyes, and his narrow pupils. The high-pitched screech of the bats made Shi Chen frown uncomfortably. Nie Jia, clutching his ears in pain, knelt down.

Feeling a pang of guilt, Shi Chen made the bats stop screeching, and they quickly flew back to him.

Nearby military units had sent troops to support the Imperial Tribunal, but Shi Chen didn't need anyone else to deal with both the Imperial Tribunal and the military forces. He was worried about Nie Jia.

Shi Chen left a few bats by Nie Jia's side to monitor his movements and protect him, and hurried to catch up to him.

The commotion caused by the bats stopped, and the guards collapsed in exhaustion, unable to get up.

The effect of the bats' screeching on Nie Jia wasn't as severe, but he was almost powerless against the high-frequency noise. He didn't know it was Shi Chen's ability and thought it was a skilled guard from the Imperial Tribunal. He could sense something lurking in the air around him. Raising his hand, he grabbed at the air, and thin black lines sliced through the air, causing the bats to emit their dying screeches.

Chaos ensued in an instant.

Shi Chen paused in his steps. With the bats dead, he lost the images they transmitted to him. He realized that Nie Jia saw him as an enemy, so even more bats immediately swarmed out like a flock of ravens, pouring into the corridors. They screamed, revealing their sharp claws and blade wings, destroying everything in their path like a monster capable of devouring the starry sky.

The high-pitched screech of the bats caused Nie Jia excruciating headaches. He couldn't muster the strength to fight back and chose to turn and flee.

With the bats' speed, catching up to Nie Jia was just a matter of moments, but strangely, they didn't. They just chased after him from behind, as if in a pretense.

Shi Chen drove Nie Jia towards him while also hurrying to catch up to him.

Nie Jia was completely unaware of the bats' intentions. He just ran wherever there was a path, until Shi Chen chopped down a door in front of him and suddenly appeared before him. Nie Jia abruptly stopped in his tracks, his eyes somewhat panicked as he looked at Shi Chen.

"It's me, Jiajia, don't be afraid," Shi Chen said, seeing Nie Jia's panic and mistaking it for fear.

The bats instantly dissipated behind Nie Jia, leaving behind a vast expanse of ruins.

Shi Chen felt a sense of relief when he saw Nie Jia. He wanted to approach and hug him, but Nie Jia quickly stepped back, trembling as he said, "Don't come any closer."

The

faint smile on Shi Chen's lips disappeared, realizing that something must have happened to Nie Jia while he was in the virtual world. But Shi Chen dared not ask.

"Come to me," Shi Chen said softly, standing still and reaching out to Nie Jia. "I've been waiting for you, waiting for you to come back to me. I've come to take you home, my dear, let's go home."

In the past, when Nie Jia heard Shi Chen's affectionate words, he would blush and shyly nuzzle against Shi Chen's cheek. But now, he remained unmoved, even speaking coldly and emotionlessly, "Stop waiting for me. I don't want to see you again."

With that, Nie Jia took a step back, wanting to break the window and escape.

A hint of anger flickered in Shi Chen's eyes, and with a sudden kick, he swiftly moved behind Nie Jia, one hand slamming against the window, pinning Nie Jia against him. His voice was ground out through clenched teeth, "Where do you think you're going? I'll take you there!"

"You... let go of me!" Nie Jia panicked and kicked Shi Chen's shin.

"Are you avoiding me?" Shi Chen realized Nie Jia's intentions and couldn't believe it, furrowing his brows in disbelief. He grabbed Nie Jia's wrist, his breath quickening as he stared into Nie Jia's eyes. "You're avoiding me, you still don't trust me? Even now, you still refuse to believe me!"

"I just don't love you anymore," Nie Jia forced back tears, enduring the pain in his heart as he met Shi Chen's gaze. "Let me go."

The words made Shi Chen dumbfounded for a moment, as if everything he had done, from their youthful love to his actions in the virtual world, had been a joke.

Finally, Shi Chen let go of Nie Jia's hand. Nie Jia's lips trembled uncontrollably, and he immediately tried to escape from Shi Chen's embrace.

"Don't you think I'll believe it?" Shi Chen pointed a finger, and several bats swiftly bound Nie Jia's feet. Caught off guard, Nie Jia fell, and Shi Chen pulled him into his arms.

"Don't hide from me," Shi Chen's ragged breath brushed against Nie Jia's ear as he gently stroked the back of Nie Jia's head, his voice soft and sad. "To you, we've only just parted, but for me, I haven't seen you in ten years. Do you know how much I've missed you?"

Nie Jia's throat choked with a slight sob, his body trembling uncontrollably.

Whatever decision Nie Jia had made earlier, when he saw Shi Chen, he could no longer hold back.

Outside the Tribunal, the vast expanse of space was filled with layers of large-scale military mechas and sniper squads. Colonel Shi, who had rushed over from the nearby military district, saw Major Shi squatting at the main entrance. The majestic main entrance of the Tribunal, along with the national emblem, had now become a pile of rubble. From a high vantage point, the entire Tribunal had collapsed by half.

The Colonel was shocked, his adrenaline soaring, as he rushed to Major Shi's side and saluted. "General, what happened?"

"It's none of your business, go play somewhere else," Major Shi said without even looking at the Colonel, still squatting there, propping up his cheek and staring at the pile of rubble that was once the main entrance, as if waiting for something.

The Colonel looked around in astonishment, only to see that Major Shi's troops were escorting dozens of Tribunal guards, and the mobile forces from the surrounding starfields seemed to be surrounding the Tribunal. Just a moment ago, he thought Major Shi was here to support them, but now it seemed that she had completely taken control of the Tribunal!

The Colonel's heart pounded with fear.

Major Shi suddenly stood up, startling the Colonel, who quickly stepped aside.

"Big brother!" Major Shi ran over.

Major Shi ran over like a cannonball, and when he reached Nie Jia, he grinned and said, "Jiage, do you remember me?"

Nie Jia glanced at her and ignored her, continuing to stare at Shi Chen's feet.

Shi Chen chuckled, "He can't speak right now. What do you want to say? Let's wait until we get home."

Major Shi was taken aback. "Huh? Is Jiage injured? It's a good thing I brought the military doctor... Oh no, isn't Jiage himself a military doctor?"

Shi Chen said sternly, "I gagged him."

To avoid him saying something that would make him furious, let him suffer for a while, and then comfort him when he gets home. Nie Jia remained expressionless, his mouth sealed by the blade wings of the bats, only able to gasp for breath.

Shi Chu immediately understood that these two were probably arguing, and to avoid getting involved, she quickly took a few steps to the side.

"Shi Chen! Shi Chu! What the hell have you two brats done?!" A furious voice boomed down from above.

Shi Chu shuddered all over, looking up to see her father, Marshal Rosen, and the Chief Justice standing overhead. The Chief Justice, staring at the half-ruined Tribunal, had turned pale, almost passing out.

Shi Chu immediately became flustered. "Dad... let me explain..."

Shi Chen, however, didn't notice the extent of his father's rage. He just looked at the Chief Justice with a vacant expression, his eyes gleaming with sharpness and hostility, reminiscent of swords.

The case involving his wife had not been fully investigated yet, and Shi Chen didn't know if the Chief Justice was also involved.

Nie Jia suddenly tightened his grip on Shi Chen's hand. When Shi Chen snapped out of it, he turned and smiled at him, patting Nie Jia's head gently as he whispered, "It's okay. I'll go talk to Marshal Rosen, and then we'll go home."

Nie Jia, feeling nervous for some reason, furrowed his brow. He gave Shi Chen a steady look, and then they both let go of each other's hands.

Shi Chen cautioned Shi Chu, "Keep an eye on my wife. If he tries to run, I'll wring your neck."

In fact, with Shi Chu's mobile forces surrounding the Tribunal, even if Nie Jia tried to escape again, he would be caught within a minute.

With a final pat on Nie Jia's head, Shi Chen went to find Marshal Rosen.

Shi Chu approached Nie Jia with a smile. "Jiage, don't you remember me at all?"

Nie Jia looked at her and nodded indifferently.

He vaguely remembered that Shi Chen had a sister, but it was just a passing memory from their youth. He couldn't recall much about her.

Shi Chu sighed in disappointment at Nie Jia's response. "Well, it's been over ten years since we last saw each other. Last time I saw you, I was still in school, and now I'm a general! Look!" Shi Chu poked her military insignia proudly, eager to show off to Nie Jia.

A Black Star Battle Major, a promising warrior.

Nie Jia looked at Shi Chu expressionlessly for a while, then lost interest in her and shifted his gaze back to Shi Chen in the distance.

Shi Chu kept chattering, "Jiage, why won't big brother let you speak? How did you two end up arguing after so many years apart? Big brother has always missed you so much. He still keeps your childhood photos in his office and room. He believed in your innocence even when you were trapped in the Tribunal. If it weren't for wanting you to leave the Tribunal with dignity, he would have smashed it long ago..."

Nie Jia listened silently to Shi Chu's chatter, his heart silent and desolate.

He had always known that Shi Chen never gave up on him. It was he who had given up on himself, and on Shi Chen.

Nie Jia turned his head away from Shi Chu's gaze, swallowing hard with difficulty, tears silently rolling down his cheeks.

A small hand quietly rested on Nie Jia's waist, and a sweet voice sounded, "Rest."

The moment Shi Chu noticed, she immediately felt a vast and overwhelming murderous intent coming her way. She quickly drew her sword to block, but the force sent her flying several meters away.

"You fucking let him go!" Shi Chu roared, gripping her sword tightly as she was thrown back, landing several meters away.

"Who dared to attack Ah Xian when his armor was cut open? Speak up!" A bespectacled man asked the girl seriously.

The girl knelt by the bed, watching over the sleeping man, and said quietly, "Nobody attacked him. Ah Xian was injured just before the teleportation circle disappeared."

The bespectacled man pondered for a moment. "So fast?"

The speed at which the teleportation circle disappeared was too fast for anyone to react. What had such speed and power?

"Forget it, we'll settle Ah Xian's score later. For now, let's bring the young master back." He patted the girl's head indulgently. "Let's go out."

The girl's eyes welled up with tears. "No, I want to stay here with Ah Xian."

"He's fine. He'll wake up after a nap," the man said.

Tears streamed down the girl's face. "But I want to be with him when he wakes up. He'll be sad if there's no one by his side."

The man smiled indulgently and got up. "Alright, but remember to come out for dinner later. I'm going to check on Master."

Meanwhile, Nie Jia woke up with a splitting headache. Pressing his forehead, he sat up and saw a strange young man sitting by the bed.

Nie Jia had fallen asleep in a state of confusion, looking around at his unfamiliar surroundings, including the unfamiliar young man. Nie Jia didn't bother with him and just threw back the covers, taking a few ethereal steps, and looked around, "Where's Shi Chen?"

"Don't you want to know who I am?" The man stood up, his expression a mix of joy and sadness. "Jiajia, I'm your father."
