"The, Mr. President, Ning Lang is requesting a video call!"
"Put it through!" He Qingtang solemnly ordered.
Ning Lang's proactive contact made the conference room fall into a hush, everyone almost holding their breath, anticipating Ning Lang's appearance to discuss terms with the two nations.
The screen lit up, revealing a young and wicked face. The young man with black hair and eyes greeted He Qingtang and the President of the United States with a somewhat unconventional salute through the cold screen. "Good evening, President He Qingtang and President Clinton. I hope I'm not disturbing your final moments of rest."
"Ning Lang, what do you want?" He Qingtang cut straight to the point, devoid of any formalities.
"What I want, can I have it just like that? Well... sorry, I can indeed have what I want right now." Ning Lang chuckled heartily, relishing the displeasure evident on the faces of He Qingtang and Clinton.
Shi Chen stepped forward, sitting beside He Qingtang with a stern look, staring at Ning Lang. "What are your conditions? You should know, with the Oasis' nuclear arsenal, Huaxia can easily retaliate twofold. The outcome would be mutually disastrous, something neither side desires. We are willing to negotiate with the Oasis now. What are your conditions?"
President Clinton also nodded along. The Oasis couldn't possibly be planning a suicide attack, right? Just over a hundred nuclear missiles wouldn't fundamentally destroy both countries. Once launched, both Huaxia and the United States would retaliate. No matter how many capabilities the Oasis had, it would only lead to their demise, not worth the risk.
For years, the Oasis had sought independence, but Huaxia refused to acknowledge it. If Ning Lang simply wanted to declare independence, this crisis would be much easier to handle.
"I do have one condition." Ning Lang pondered for a moment before smiling wickedly.
If there was room for negotiation, He Qingtang felt relieved, though he dared not show any sign of relaxation on his face. "What is it?"
"I have a list here. Give me those people to be executed, and I'll pretend nothing ever happened." Ning Lang's gaze brimmed with malice as he recited a dozen names, including Shi Chen, Shen Su, He Qingtang, two Level Five ability users and a military general from the United States, and... "And that traitor Nie Jia from the Shark faction!"
"Delusional!"
"You must be dreaming!"
He Qingtang and President Clinton glared angrily.
Shi Chen responded calmly, "Since you know Nie Jia has joined Huaxia, you should understand that with Nie Jia and Shen Su here, Huaxia can intercept and even counterattack the nuclear missiles. And what about the United States?"
Ning Lang raised an eyebrow at President Clinton. "The United States has sufficient military power to destroy the Oasis," Clinton said, his face stern.
Nie Jia found it somewhat strange. It was common for hostile countries to boast about false bravado in war matters, but neither Shi Chen nor Clinton were lying, and they even seemed modest. The Oasis's strength lay in its numerous ability users, but in a military confrontation, the Oasis would only face defeat. How could Ning Lang not know this?
Looking at his demeanor, it didn't seem like he was planning a suicide attack. If he agreed, would the others from the Oasis also agree to accompany him in madness? The people of the Oasis were fanatical Shark factionists, willing to sacrifice themselves in a suicide attack? Impossible.
Nie Jia pondered for a moment and asked Shen Su in a low voice, "What is Ning Lang's ability?"
Shen Su and Nie Jia couldn't stand each other, but they didn't have time for that now. Shen Su replied truthfully, "All we know is he's one of the Level Five, but no one knows his specific ability. He has always been highly regarded and protected by Huang Geng, considered a secret weapon of the Oasis."
KK's data was incomplete, so Nie Jia couldn't use God's Eye as before. At this moment, he could only guess blindly.
A mysterious Level Five ability user who killed the old leader to take power and immediately declared war on two countries—where did he get such confidence?
"Could Ning Lang have advanced to become a Level Six ability user?" Nie Jia speculated in a low voice.
"It's impossible! It would be shocking enough for a Level Six to appear, as for over a hundred years, the highest level reached has been Level Five. Suddenly, two Level Sixes appearing? It's too coincidental!" Shen Su retorted angrily, but inside, Nie Jia's words stirred up a stormy sea of thoughts. With an embarrassed expression, Shen Su continued, "Perhaps... it's not entirely impossible. If he really provoked both countries without any concern due to advancing in levels, it might just make sense."
"That would be disastrous!" A lieutenant nearby overheard their conversation and broke out in a cold sweat. "We don't even know what Ning Lang's ability is!"
Nie Jia folded his hands together, furrowing his brows as he silently watched Ning Lang on the screen.
The world's composition had been disrupted by his arrival, or rather, rearranged by the prosecution team. Shi Chen had always tried to stand at a higher position to better assist Nie Jia in completing missions, but this time, he was just an ordinary person. Even KK was limited; he couldn't even access God's Eye. The main antagonist had always been himself, but suddenly, Ning Lang appeared. It was hard to say whether it was the work of the prosecution team.
"So, is there no room for negotiation?" Ning Lang shrugged, then clapped his hands, laughing. "Then I declare, the racial war officially begins now!"
As he finished speaking, a total of 172 nuclear missiles were locked, ignited, and burst forth!
"Stop!" He Qingtang roared in anger.
Ning Lang's smile grew crazier. "Before reaching the point of no return, you still have some time to make a decision for yourselves."
Shi Chen gritted his teeth, his eyes almost bursting with rage. Nie Jia didn't have time to say anything to him. As soon as the launch silo activated, he immediately muttered, "I'm leaving," and rushed towards the coastline. When Shi Chen turned around, Nie Jia had already disappeared, and Shen Su hurriedly followed to the coastline.
"You never intended to negotiate." Shi Chen's tone was menacing as he stared at Ning Lang.
Ning Lang chuckled. "Of course not. If He Qingtang and Clinton were foolish enough to kill all of you in one breath, it would save me a lot of trouble."
He Qingtang clenched his fists tightly. "What exactly do you want?"
"I am ushering in the arrival of a new world, offering a celebration of fireworks!" Ning Lang's eyes gleamed with madness. He stood up, kicked the chair behind him, spread his arms, and shouted, "We will exterminate all the swine factions in this world, enslave ordinary humans. Ability users are the successful evolution of the superhuman race. It's disgraceful that the swine factions are mingling with you ordinary humans. We, the Shark faction, have hidden for so long, but it's time for you to taste what it's like to be hunted. This time, it's either you die or I perish."
Ning Lang unilaterally ended the video call.
Shi Chen's eyebrows furrowed deeply. He placed a hand on He Qingtang's shoulder and whispered, "You stay here; I'll watch the coastline."
He Qingtang looked up at him with rapid breaths, tears glistening in his eyes. "No matter what... we must intercept all the missiles! Each one that falls will cost countless lives."
"I understand." Shi Chen nodded heavily.
On the coastline, the residential area was chaotic. The military was arranging emergency evacuations, and the light rings of spatial ability users flashed everywhere. But time was pressing; once the nuclear missiles from across the strait arrived, the sacrifice would still be severe.
"Mr. Nie!" He Qingtang spotted Nie Jia's figure standing in the wind on the cross-sea bridge. She generated a bloody mist in her palm, flying over the sea and landing beside Nie Jia, her voice trembling as she asked, "The missile silos have been activated, right?"
"Yes, a total of 207," Nie Jia said calmly as he looked into the endless darkness in the distance.
He Qingtang was taken aback. "How come there are so many...?"
"It's increasing. Now it's 215," Nie Jia said.
"There are ability users!" He Qingtang immediately realized that the Oasis didn't have so many nuclear weapons in reserve.
"Yes, that person keeps duplicating them. We've passed the point of no return," Nie Jia looked back at the coastline. It was still brightly lit. With such little time to evacuate millions of people, it was too harsh. He spoke heavily, "The quantity and range exceed my expectations. I can't intercept them all; I can only detonate them in midair. You immediately organize water, earth, and other useful ability users to create barriers on the coastline to resist the shock waves and tsunamis. The higher, the better. As for pollution and radiation, we'll have to deal with that later."
He Qingtang's heart was about to explode. Hearing Nie Jia's words, she quickly nodded and rushed back to organize manpower as quickly as possible.
"Nie Jia, how confident are you?" Shen Su stopped in midair on a sheet of metal, looking down at Nie Jia.
Nie Jia asked, "What's the limit of your domain?"
Shen Su looked a bit embarrassed. "I can't feel the missiles standing here."
Nie Jia's expression darkened. He hadn't expected the gap between Level Five and Level Six to be so significant. But it didn't matter; he hadn't intended to ask Shen Su for help within his range anyway.
Pointing behind him, Nie Jia said, "You go reinforce the barrier on the coastline. The shock waves from several hundred nuclear missiles could flatten the coastline."
As soon as he finished speaking, Nie Jia's figure disappeared in an instant. Shen Su didn't have time to express his dissatisfaction with Nie Jia. Gripping his fingers tightly, a bridge spanning ten thousand meters rose from the ground and slammed horizontally onto the coastline, enclosing the residential area.
Soon, countless earthen walls and ice barriers rose layer by layer along the shore, towering into the sky, tightly protecting the coastline. The military was still intensively arranging evacuations, minimizing casualties as much as possible.
Nie Jia teleported to a safe yet perilous location, where all the nuclear missiles across the strait were within his domain. He could clearly feel the magnetism of the metal and the ability user who kept multiplying these weapons within the sea of destruction.
Sparks flickered at Nie Jia's fingertips. He clenched his teeth, as if holding an invisible giant gate, roaring with all his might to tear apart the endless darkness of the night sky. In the distant darkness, countless dazzling flashes of white light connected, almost illuminating the entire sea as if it were an unbearable sun!
Then came the instantaneous onslaught of sound waves and heat waves. Nie Jia was immediately deafened by the violent explosion, completely draining his physical strength and energy. Before he could even dodge, he was thrown into the water by the shockwave, not even a splash of water accompanying his fall.
Nearly three hundred nuclear missiles were detonated on the distant sea surface. Looking from the west coast of Huaxia, it seemed as if the distant junction of heaven and earth suddenly lit up, followed by a series of muffled thunders, and then everything quieted down, as if it were just a fleeting fireworks display.
