Chapter 27: Who's the Real Boss

Nie Jia waved his hand, feeling both despondent and powerless. KK had veered off-topic, and he lacked the energy to explain. He immersed himself in contemplation within the boundless realm of bugs, taking a deep breath after a while and addressing KK, "Alright, I'm ready now."

The man paused, seemingly surprised by Brother Fei's compliance this time. A hint of joy flashed across his face as he swiftly grabbed his bag and headed out to buy breakfast.

Nie Jia lifted the covers and got out of bed, heading to the bathroom while KK took the opportunity to feed him information about the world.

This world was a simple yet inspiring story within the entertainment circle, centered around Xie Yihang, a member of the currently popular idol group DDD.

Xie Yihang was the shining star of the four-member idol group DDD, enjoying immense popularity. DDD, dubbed the only divine-faced group in the entertainment circle due to each member's outstanding appearance, naturally included Xie Yihang, whose looks were not inferior. His personality was warm and innocent, earning him the title of the group's darling and little angel by fans.

Although Xie Yihang seemed to have reached the peak of his career, being in DDD for five years and now basking in enormous popularity, the story didn't end there. With the help of the protagonist, he would surpass his greatest obstacle in life, Nie Jia, currently known as DDD's Ace, Nie Fei.

When DDD was initially formed with just three members, Xie Yihang was among them. Facing hardships at the start and lacking support from the company in terms of promotion, the group was on the brink of disbandment. The three supported each other through the tough first year, and in the second year, the company signed a talented singer-songwriter, Nie Fei, who officially joined DDD, forming the four-member group.

Nie Fei played an undeniable role in DDD's rise to becoming the top male group. He was the unquestionable Ace of the group, contributing significantly. He was an exceptional talent, not just excelling in composing and writing lyrics for the group's hit songs but also consistently producing a large number of songs in just four years, surpassing everyone. Moreover, Nie Fei possessed an impeccable appearance that overshadowed the other three members.

However, despite these talents, Nie Fei wasn't the most popular member of DDD; in terms of popularity, he was even at the bottom.

Nie Fei had a terrible temper and clashed with the other three members frequently. He often resorted to cold violence, slamming his guitar and leaving the stage multiple times, even when Xie Yihang collapsed from exhaustion during performances. While the other two rushed to his aid, Nie Fei stood there, singing on his own without a glance.

Xie Yihang, the most popular member of DDD, garnered immense sympathy from fans when he collapsed on stage. They wished to rush to help, while Nie Fei stood by, coldly observing. Sometimes, he would even mock the situation on social media afterward.

Nie Fei's open hostility towards the other three members resulted in little unity within DDD, dividing the fanbase into Nie Fei's fans and the trio's fans. Many from the trio's fanbase refused to accept Nie Fei as a member of DDD, going as far as labeling his fans as brainless followers.

For a person like Nie Fei, who went against the group and showcased arrogance, to have such a distinct division among the fanbase was inevitable. Despite his outstanding talents, his demeanor and character prevented him from gaining widespread popularity. On the other hand, Xie Yihang, although not the tallest, the best singer, or the most outstanding in appearance, dance, or stamina, won hearts with his pleasant personality. He greeted Nie Fei's coldness with a smile, winning countless fans and becoming the most popular member of DDD.

The company invested heavily in Xie Yihang, offering various opportunities in variety shows and movies, which Nie Fei lacked.

Originally, the members competed with each other, but Nie Fei's resentment toward Xie Yihang, who seemed to excel in every aspect despite his shortcomings, led to clashes. Nie Fei changed his musical style to focus more on high notes, limiting Xie Yihang's singing lines in their songs. This sparked fury among Xie Yihang's fans, leading to them digging up dirt on Nie Fei, trending negative topics, and writing lengthy posts criticizing him. Yet, when Xie Yihang tearfully apologized to stop the attacks, did it work? No. Why should Nie Fei be the one that Xie Yihang defends?

However, Nie Fei's actions didn't halt Xie Yihang's progress but instead pushed him more towards the entertainment industry.

Eventually, two years later, DDD, once the talk of the town, disbanded. Xie Yihang and the other two members ventured into the entertainment world, leaving behind Nie Fei.

The disbandment of DDD shattered the hearts of fans, who collectively believed it was Nie Fei who drove away the little angel. When DDD disbanded, Nie Fei found himself amidst significant negative publicity. The company wanted him to step back, focus on writing songs for other internal groups and artists, avoiding public exposure. But Nie Fei, passionate about music, refused. Despite being in the eye of the storm, his personal albums continued to sell well, although not reaching the peak of DDD's success, still surpassing many other artists.

Xie Yihang, with the protagonist's halo, excelled in the entertainment industry due to his improving acting skills and excellent looks. Nie Fei didn't fare too poorly either.

However, Nie Fei met a tragic end, poisoned by a former DDD fan who couldn't stand seeing Nie Fei living well after allegedly forcing away the little angel. A talented singer suddenly perished, and upon hearing of Nie Fei's death, Xie Yihang, now a renowned actor, reportedly locked himself in his room, crying for a whole day. Fans sympathized, saying the little angel was too kind-hearted to be hurt for someone undeserving.
