'Sicher' would be 'Safe' - I don't think that is what the 'S' on the trigger is to symbolize. Maybe more likely 'S' for something like 'Serienfeuer' in opposition to 'Einzelfeuer'. ('Serial fire' vs. 'singlE fire' ...)

Quite unusually to me, great stuff

Hi Ian, Let us into a secret. How many "dry runs" does it take to produce these slick field strips? I think most of us would need an auto que behind the camera

rate of fire? so the 7 and 8mm mauser had straight mags just the austrian curved ones? ok this does look very slim and cool. not sure how much sense the side instead of top mounted mag makes but.. again side mounted look cool to me.

Thank you as always for a fascinating look at an old firearm. There is just something about the silhouette of those long, sleek German machine guns that I find especially appealing. I am curious that so many parts appear to be left in the white. Video being what it is it appears that it might have a bronzish hue but that could simply be a trick of the light. As to operation I am curious what the cyclic rate was? Are all of those thin German stingers run at very high rates of fire? In excess of 1000 cycles per minute? Best luck with the new James Bond Guns book. It looks really spiffy!

how dependable was this weapon
