CZ's New P09 Nocturne: DA/SA Polymer Frame Now With Optics (Ad-free)

CZ has just released their new P09 Nocturne pistols, an update to the previous P07/P09 pairing. These guns fundamentally go back to the classic CZ-75. While that was (and still is) a very popular design, military and police tenders more recently have required more modern elements. So in 2007 the P07 Duty was released; essentially CZ75 mechanics with a modern look and a polymer frame. This was only offered as a compact model, until in 2009 the design was overhauled. At that point, the compact remained the P07 and a full size companion piece was released as the P09.

Now, the design has been updated again, as the P09 Nocturne. The compact is the P09C and the full size is the P09F, and both come with optics cuts as standard. They are only compatible with the mini-red dot patterns however, as the internal firing pin safety in the slide limits the amount of material that can be removed for the optic. For individuals and agencies who want a modern DA/SA system (with either decocted or manual safety), the P09 Nocturne is now an option with all the modern features.

This is a step in the right direction. The P07 (now P09C) is, basically, a DA/SA Glock 19. Both the milling for Holosun K and improved texture are enhancements that are welcome in today's market. Hopefully, CZ will make these changes in the metal framed CZ 75 series

I'm also hoping they do a kadet kit for these, competing with both versions and having the option is worth it for me.

Don’t suppose they said if there will be a .22lr conversion kit Ian? I like the idea of training with low recoil/noise/cost of the.22lr with the same grip and trigger feel. In my more competitive days I always found my human area was more noticeable and correctable with air pistol or.22 than when it is masked with the boom and buck of a full-house load, and good skills learned with light rounds pay dividends in competition.

"This happens to be a nocturne." "A what?" "You know, Frederic fucking Chopin."

"grown up" in a DA/SA era. Started out with DA/SA's. Like a bunch of Sigs some SW ocational Beretta. Not a fan of DA to SA anymore. I would like a DAO, what's the 90s alternative to the others, over a DS/SA but I shot revolvers a lot DAO so. semi's... well I just got a 1911. No need for others.--- CZ are great but I can't run a 75 cocked and locked. just can not get my thumb under that safety lever. outstanding performance for the money. no time behind a 97 or the plastic ones. maybe those would work better for me.
