Now Available: VHS-2 w/ 20-inch Barrel (aka Springfield Hellion) (Ad-free)

Springfield Armory is now importing a version of the the VHS-2 bullpup (commercially named the Hellion here in the US) with a 20-inch barrel. This is the barrel length used in the most common military pattern of the rifle, the VHS-2D. In addition, Springfield's semiauto configuration has the proper military muzzle device, barrel rings for the rifle grenade launcher, and a bayonet lug which fits the standard military bayonet for the VHS-2. This is a pretty cool new option for folks who are interested in the Hellion as a copy of a current-service military rifle.

The next thing you will need for a proper clone is a VHS magazine well and some of the proprietary VHS-2 magazines...

I found it surprisingly heavy when I used one. Might be the fact that I am using WWSD as a primary for some time now.

I've been WAY more impressed with my VHSs than I expected. They're solid.

We are trying to get a couple of the optics hand guards...hasn't worked yet, but we aren't done trying :)

Nothing will take the place of my FAMAS ;)

Ah, of course - I didn't think about that.

This is the bullpup I would get were I to purchase one. I like that HS has made the 20" available.

I'm still holding out hope that they import a version with the wonky carry handle and the integrated optic. Also, CZ did import magwells and proprietary mags for the 805, so maybe Springfield will get the memo. Or maybe Gun Jesus can use his miracle powers like with Scrome...

Also, Ian, would you replace your famous FAMAS with this? Or is the FAMAS still your ride-or-die?

So, the reason Springfield doesn't import the Croatian magazines is 922r. A US made PMAG or GI mag counts as 3 922r (baseplate, mag-body, and spring IIRC) parts to keep the gun from being an 'imported assault weapon'. While us nobodies can probably slide by under the radar for swapping the original parts back on the gun, Springfield can't.

The screws that hold that top pic rail on just reminds me too much of Keltec

Not gonna lie, I still think it's really cool how absolutely sci-fi that thing looks xD And poor camera man, having to eat all that brass ^^;

germany. only thing sportive available, though I'm not 100% about the 4000€ desert tec, would be an Z (zivil=civilian) (steyr)mannlicher aug-Z. still a pricy gun mags even worser though hera made a ar mag lower. frankly I'd rather want a famas, an aug or a tavor (762?). I get the mil pattern thing but... BP has the advantage longer barrel shorter package but a 20 over a 16? in the vhs (still sounds like a video player/tape.. who came up with that name?!)...
