Top 5 Pistols of World War One (Response to C&Rsenal) (Ad-Free)
Added 2023-12-03 12:00:07 +0000 UTCC&Rsenal posted a Top 10 Pistols of WWI video a few days ago, and I didn't entirely agree with their choices - so I figured I'd do my own list. I'm using the same base conditions that they did (only locked-breech pistols), and I'm judging the guns based on their desirability to a trained and practiced pistol gunfighter. I stuck to just 5 rather than C&Rsenal's 10, but let me know what you think of our picks...

As a Brit I don't think there's any American bias in putting the 1911 at number one. To be honest the Savage in 45 would probably beat out the Webley.

2023-12-04 13:36:26 +0000 UTCI think part of the comparative evaluation could include slide, or charging, operation between these pistols. For instance, compare the Lugar’s toggle, or do some of the slides have a more positive lock?
