Initially? It was process of elimination. My roommate has a dog that doesn't like other dogs, and cats are... kinda unpredictable when it comes to deciding whose human they are. Like, the roommate also has a cat that's pretty much perfect in every way shape and form, from her love of cuddling to the fact that she comes to comfort me when I'm upset, And yet, at the end of the day, it's my roommate they prefer. Plus, cats are pretty independent. I kinda wanted to take care of an animal, and build a bond with them over time... and, well, bearded dragons are known for bonding with their humans, so... Yeah. Also, I have fond memories of interacting with a bearded dragon as a kid, so there's some sentimentality at play,
