Apocrypha: Behind the Scenes March 14, 2023

The past week had had me in West Virginia at the Midnight Brutality night rifle match. I've got a bunch of great footage form the match, and a series of videos will be coming in a few weeks.

I'm also working on scheduling a visit to Barrett Firearms in TN...that should be a lot of fun and a bunch of great content!

Cool little bit of apocrypha. "The Formidable???!!!" I do get the impression that 19th Century salesmen really want to town when it came to naming their products.

In the Army we use targets that"pop" up from prone to upright. When they are prone they lay down on top of a thermal blanket that heats them up. That way they are "hot" for a short time for the shooter/vehicle to spot and angage. Don't know if they have that capability. The lifters that the Army uses are about $3200 each for the infantry targets.

I am having problems with your Utreon. When I click the email link, it takes me to a general Utreon site, and when I then search for Forgotten Weapons, it gives me hundreds of non-Forgotten Weapons weapons video links.

It's a Dead Air Nomad (.30 cal).

Thanks! :)

Australian designer Russ Robinson had something like that, much earlier. It may well be in Leeds.

Stuart Morrow

That was a silly question. I'll mail it to the Tucson address......

Good man Ian. Do you want a Paddyflage boonie hat to go with your Irish Defence Forces jacket, I've got a spare from my time in the IDF?

Mick Gillen

barret wouldn't have the eeeeeaaaarly other idea for the 50 as a shoulder launched anti tank kind of setup lying around somewhere? that would make cool footage.

Guido Schriewer

What suppressor do you have on the Steyr scout rifle above your right shoulder? The match sounds interesting. Having used thermal imaging for industrial inspection, I'm looking forward to your videos and conclusions from it.

I too recently picked up a revolver for my collection. I was finally able to get a hold of a Webly Mark VI that received a snub nose conversion. I've seen a few Enfield No. 2 in .38 that had been cut down but this was the first time I had found a Webly in .45 acp.

Nothing. We need about 20% of the text from one of the coauthors, and he's been doing research on other elements of Afghan history for the past several years. Hopefully he will come back around to the areas we still need for the book, but there appears to be no way to convince him to change until he wants to.

Think you've earnt a pass out for this weekend vs Apocrypha Upcoming vids sound great

What's going on with the Kabul Armory book from Headstamp?

Wish that SOCOM setup worked out better for you this past weekend! Nice shooting with you, by far the coolest match I've ever shot]

Clark from WY

You oughta do a meet up when you’re in Tennessee!
