Apocrypha: Behind the Scenes (February 5, 2023)

This week has been mostly preparing for a couple weeks of travel - I'll be going to Morphy's Auctions next week to film, and then on to Springfield Armory for some book photography after that. Both have some really cool stuff in store for me to work with. In addition:

 - Got a really gratifying letter from a Ukrainian Foreign Legionnaire

 - Brownells has big discounts on WWSD uppers and lowers

 - Did some collaborative filming with Administrative Results

That your videos managed to help train Ukraine Foreign Legionnaires is the coolest thing I've heard all day.

Also if you ever return to Springfield armory in the future, the colt museum is about an hour away in Hartford. Probably wouldn’t be able to film there because its run by the state of CT and well.. they try and demean the role of Colt and the firearms industry in general in CT history

I am so excited to hear u are going to Springfield! They have an amazing collection. I went last fall and it was great! I got to peak in their reserve collection and it is fantastic.

Ian, Any idea if the sale on WWSD items has anything to do with the spat between inrange and ARFCOM? Brownells owns ARFCOM and I’m told brownells is no longer sponsoring cornfield brutality.

uuh. springfield armory... that should be an outstanding playground. what about channels who got just erased by yt? they do not restore any did they?

Guido Schriewer

Yes, they are sold out. Only complete WWSD and CDR rifles still available.

Forgotten Weapons

The link for the upper doesn't work anymore -- maybe sold out?

OMG, "New Model Army" isn't fiction anymore!

Please do a meetup, I drive through Springfield every day!

If you end up doing one, I would LOVE to go! The staff there are great! Plus Smith and Wesson, Savage, and Ruger are all in the area as well.

Springfield (the city) also has a sort of manufacturing history museum with a lot of gun stuff. Part of the museum quadrangle downtown you pay one fee for.

John R

Possibly - I need to see what the photo schedule looks like

Forgotten Weapons

Any chance for a meetup in Springfield?

Springfield is a fantastic museum. If you had the spare time (or someone is just visiting the area) up I-91 in Windsor, VT is the American Precision Museum in the old Robbins & Lawrence factory, they also have some great history. There's one particular THING at Springfield, it looks like an early plastic prototype of a drum-fed shotgun married to a rotating cylinder/chain belt grenade launcher device that is straight out of a video game.

Throwback Thursday seems a perfect excuse to re-release those edited and deleted videos.
