Genesis 8

Hello guyz! Today I had to create a night elf, that is the trainee of the orc chief. For this occasion I wanted to try something new, I worked with the Genesis 8 basis.
For people who are not familiar with that, I'm rendering with DAZ3D, and to make character we have a Basic character that we will modify. I was mainly using genesis 3, and Genesis 8 has come recently.
So here is Nii, it's a dark elf, made with Genesis 8.
She is shy and cute, exactly what a Dark race shouldn't be.
My thoughts about Genesis 8:
I'm in love. :D
I'm not sure I'm aware about all features that concerns genesis 8, the main thing I've seen it the new pose control... waw! particularily on her face, it's a lot more natural!!! like when you change the mouth's corner position, the whole face is adaptating to it.
Many basic expressions are also more beautiful/realistic, the fear, the happiness, it was a LOT MORE CREDIBLE.
the only bad point it that every morph I got for Genesis 3 doesn't work for this one x) I've had to get specific morphing tools for genesis 8 in order to customize head and body (I don't use prefab model concerning the body morph and head/face)
So, if you're hesitate to use Genesis 8, don't hesitate anymore :D (but be ready to spent money to get customization tools, if you're not a 3D modeler). if you're starting with daz, directly go to G8 and not G3. there is actually more assets that fit G3 but a lot of creators are making a G8 version of their G3 assets, and a big propostion of NEW assets are now for G8 only. So I think it's a better choice for long term.
If you're like me, you already have G3 stuff, you can make the transition slowly.

2018-03-20 23:54:34 +0000 UTCI haven't checked yet, but I suppose the GenX plug-in might have already a G8 update, to transfer any model morph from G5, G6 and G7 to G8.

2018-03-20 22:11:04 +0000 UTCRegarding to clothes, even G4 (Generation 4) models' clothes can be used with G8 without many glitches, the auto-follow does it very well. If it's from G6 or G7 the clothes morphs follows perfectly.

2018-03-20 17:44:16 +0000 UTCI'm not covered at all ^^ they don't consider the real age, just the Image, even not the character but just the Image, that's why the same character can be accepted or not. It doesn't follow a rule, it's totally about the appreciation of the guy that is reviewing your page if he likes you or not. But to avoid any problems I just have to not show the character in a sexual scene on the page ^^ (I don't want to put 18- characters in any case, but the rules that are applied doesn't depend on the truth so it's complicated) I even think to avoid any problems even if I'm following the rules, I'll delete this post after some days after everybody saw it.

2018-03-20 16:59:43 +0000 UTCWell I love Gen8, I used Gen3 stuff for while until some tools caught up to the Genesis 8. But majority of what I use has all been updated. So Gen3 is currently in my back seat. By next year, will be seeing gen3 in my rear view mirror. Genesis 8 has to many positives. the bones in the fingers and toes, and the facial/expressions has improved. Oh, when it comes to age, the powers of be, don't understand digital morphs (age and height). As well as its a story you can put down and say, Hey this character is 23 years old." But they think they know 3D rendered characters better than the artist themselves. I know one developer used the a script that can adjust body height to depict an age target. But the, "the power of b," said his character looked to young. He rendered with little different lighting and they said, "oh she looks older now." Nothing was change on the morph. I wouldn't let them, change what you want for the story. You have descriptions on your characters, as well as, warning before the game starts that all characters are depicted 18 or older.
