What Adam is talking about is a psychological principle called Abdication of power and it’s rooted in the idea that an individual must decide to either. Rise above their raising or allow it to destroy them. We all have stories we can cling to that keep us stuck. We must become aware of those stories and rise above them. Just because something is bad now. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try and make it better. We have the ability to make positive changes. The past is in our heads. The future is in our hands. We should be vary weary of planting are feet too firmly into the ashes and ruble of what was that we forget to build a new city. Once again. The past is in our heads. The future is in our hands.

The same way Adam doesn’t trust the Bible as a trustworthy source of information and isn’t willing to call bible verses facts. Many people feel the exact same way about the media. They don’t believe the media is a trustworthy source. So they aren’t willing to accept the media as an authority that is able to dictate what a fact is. Personally I am vaccinated and I believe in getting vaccinated. But it’s important to understand the role the media has played in causing the public to distrust them. And if the media continues to be dishonest the distrust will only get worse. It’s very hard these days for people to discern truth from propaganda. And the media plays a large part in that. I have been able to weigh the risk of getting vaccinated against the risk of getting Covid and Covid is overwhelmingly more dangerous. But I do understand where AD is coming from. It’s extremely hard to believe something as fact when you have so much distrust in the person or entity making the truth claim. I agree with Adam. But it’s important to acknowledge that AD’s opinion isn’t completely unjustified.
