SPOILERS:::Regulus Black was the favorite son and Sirus blacks brother. he became a death eater and kind of helped the dark lord booty trap the locket. since he loaned dark lord a house elf to torment but luckily the poor elf was able to free herself. yay. That's how RB knows about the locket and how the main cast learns about it.
