I hope it was clear I wasn’t intending a literal comparison between residential schools and what Florida is doing. The intent which you addressed was to ask how we can know if/when Florida will have done something that crosses that line of turning into not only a racist education program but outright cultural genocide. A primary concern I have especially from the lens of disability rights politics and the GNETS program in Georgia is the use of alternatives schools for “non-compliant” children as the means with this new Supreme Court for turning it into an outright cultural genocide program. The worst of it in that scenario only happens in the alternative schools for the children who don’t adopt the racist education ideology. It’s especially a concerning strategy when you see how hard it’s been to stop the GNETS program despite it being proven in court to be unconstitutionally racist and a segregation program. In other words I do think a slightly worse version of the 90s version of the GNETS program in Georgia combined with a slightly more aggressive version of Florida’s program would have the potential to become outright cultural genocide. That’s my primary concern.
