I get you, man. I'm in the same boat as you. I also work part-time at a factory minimum wage where I don't have to think much. It helps me cope with my stressful self-employed gig that doesn't pay constant. It's good for my mental health to work there. And yeah, dating a woman with kids is tough, it's normal that you sometimes feel overwhelmed with the situation.

In my opinion and experience, the difference between a young adult and becoming a man, is having responsibilities for others and having value to others, due to those responsibilities Being useful and needed by others is what gives purpose of being an adult. Be that being a parent, being an integral part of a business, being in a relationship where you are building a better life together etc. My advise would be to get something in your life that gives you a routine of helping others (even if it is only for an hour a week). Help coach sport, volunteer at a soup kitchen etc. You'll feel a lot better about yourself and you'll build your confidence back up knowing that you are a valued member of the community. Once you have this sense of value, you can transfer it into anything else you decide to do.
