I've been working on a new physics based procedural pathfinding probe from scratch which uses 0 animations and is 100xs more dynamic, interactable, and unpredictable. It's in its early stages as I've only put a few hours into this so far but was eager to share with you guys the progress. There is still a lot to tweak and smoothen out but this is a glimpse of what it will be when completed. I placed a target for the probe to seek out in one of the deepest and furthest corners and it managed to make it without the physics glitching out!
